I knew they were a lot more. Didn't know they were that much better. Friend of mine who saw one, said it was close to 50k.

And there is no content available at those resolutions.

Hell only an extreme few broadcasts even use 1080p now

Supply vs Demand - Decreasing the number of seats leads to a higher demand for those seats and a higher markup across the entire stadium. Colleges don't do that as much because they get more benefit from the extra 20,000-30,000 fans such as better stadium atmosphere, tourism revenue, and alumni donations.

Because of all the other sports that rely on college football to fund an athletic department

I can't believe that no one has mentioned the NFL blackout rule. If stadiums are built too big and don't sell out, then games can't be broadcast locally and it would mean a huge loss of TV revenue.

Most NFL stadiums are physically larger than most college stadiums. But they have real seats, not bleachers and it makes the crowd size smaller

NFL: All about the bottom line

College: In today's big college football atmosphere, while the bottom line is a huge factor, there are other factors that drive this. Especially today rivalries between colleges do not just happen on the field but in the stadium building.

A full day of tailgating leading up to a SEC/Big Ten/Big 12/Pac 12 night game > anything NFL.

Back to the original question. The NFL experience can be a better experience. Which still makes no sense as to why their stadiums aren't larger?

Because college games are much more fun and Saturday is a more convenient day for people to travel.

That's dumb logic. NFL teams are located in huge metro areas. Everyone is close to the stadium, no need to travel.

More people care in college football. There is an emotional attachment to the players/school/stadium.

There are a few NFL teams that have a college like following. Pittsburgh/Green Bay/Chicago/NOLA/
