In 1982 Wichita State lost two games to Miami in Omaha and finished as the runner up. They won 73 games that season.

Seven years later Texas A&M was 58-5, one win away from the top seed in Omaha, but LSU would beat them twice in the same day.

One guy was on the winning side in all 4 of the above games, Skip Bertman.

1995 Cal State Fullerton. They beat the shite out of everyone.

Best group of players probably USC, they have players with 3 and 4 championships during their run. Nuts.

Best run in my lifetime probably the Beavers or the Cocks, though.

The 1983 Texas team won 66 games with Roger Clemens and Calvin Schiraldi anchoring the rotation and whipped some really good teams on route to winning CWS. They went 10-1 in the postseason with the only loss coming to a Miss St team with W. Clark, R. Palmerio and Jeff Brantley.

Oklahoma St also had some juggernauts in the 80s with Pete Icaviglia, Robin Ventura, etc. but they never won the CWS.

guess that team would be included on the list but 1975 Texas team had the best record that culminated in a national championship. They went 59-6 and won the CWS. In the 80s teams had more wins because they played 80+ games. Wichita won 73 games in 1982

ETA best winning percentage all time was the 1972 Arizona State team. They were 64-4 but lost back to back games to USC in the title game and finished 64-6

With both McGwire and Johnson working as pitchers in '83 (and McGwire doubling as a slugger, of course), the Trojans went 33-24-1 overall and 17-13 in the Pac-10. They failed to qualify for the NCAA tournament.

Fullerton, Long Beach St, Pepperdine(one hit wonder but still). Small school west coast baseball was fantastic in the 80s and 90s

I dont know which off the top of my head but i know its an lsu team. We would just blow the doors off of everyone in postseason on the way to winning championships!
