Who's going to be this year's Cinderella team?

I know I'm biased, but if Texas A&M can get past Houston, they might make it to the Final Four. Drake also might make a run. Thoughts?

Have to beat Nebraska

That’s a rough bracket

What’s the criteria to be Cinderella? Double digit seed or any seed lower than a 4 making it to the Final 4?
I like A&M. I think they are a bad matchup for a lot of teams. If BYU is hot from 3 they can beat anybody. Double digit seed wise I could see 2 of Oregon, JMU, and Grand Canyon making the Sweet 16.

I’m not sure an SEC team would be considered a Cinderella story

BYU
Grand Canyon
New Mexico
James Madison
Oregon
Colorado St.
Have shots to make it to the Sweet 16.
Final Four
BYU
Colorado St
Both would need the bracket to kind of fall in their favor though.

I'm not sure if they fit the criteria, but I'd watch out for Mississippi State.
If the big boy from NC State's physicality bothered Bacot he's going to have his hands beyond full with Tolu Smith and State has a bunch of different long athletic guards to run at Davis.
That could have just been an anomaly game for UNC though and State could throw up a 30% shooting game and 2/15 from three and Hubbard can't play enough hero ball to keep up with UNC.

I’m ready to have this debate again.
A P5 school can’t be a Cinderella. Cinderella is a lower class. Unworthy of even being invited.
A low seeded P5 school is like one of Cinderella’s step sisters who got blackout drunk and disinvited from the ball but still manages to show up. They have everything they need (budget) to be a standard invite.
Cinderella is a team that shouldn’t even be in the conversation because of their resources.
Fight me.

I think you can make certain exceptions like ‘86 LSU. There are other examples but it’s 9:43 on a Tuesday morning and my brain isn’t braining yet

I don't know, I would say LSU made Cinderella runs in 1986 and 87 because they were average to bad in the regular season before sneaking into the tourney and wrecking shite. I think P5 teams can make a Cinderella run even if they're not a Cinderella school.

NM St. Plays Clemson 1st, they are half way to the sweet 16.

I would consider anything less than a 7 seed a Cinderella candidate.

It’s a resource thing for me. A Cinderella is someone who has no business even being a part of the dance much less stealing the show.
Anyone with a Power 5 budget has everything they need to make an appearance. Cinderella was a slave girl in rags. That describes mid majors. Florida Atlantic, George Mason.
Not an SEC school who has everything they need and underachieve until March.

James Madison is a dangerous team…….
