Todd McShay made love to Gabbert's profile daily. What a joke.

this is one of those times when a QB who really never took snaps under center in college is flopping on his face.

I think he was referring to Mizzou's spread offense. gabbert was a 2 years starter in college.

I know I'm an LSU homer, but surely Matt Flynn could do a lot better than this guy...

The only positive from the past two seasons of Jaguars football is the dumbfounded fan gif.

Bad comparison, but good point.

It's not fair to compare Gabbert's salary as the 10th overall pick to a #1 overall, even when you are talking about the affect of the wage scale.

A better comparison would be Freeman, Flacco, and especially Leinart--Leinart was drafted in the exact same spot as Gabbert.

Leinart's rookie deal was 6 years for $51 million, by the way. Point still made, but a bit stronger.

Brees played in Purdue's spread offense....

Alex Smith played in Utah's spread offense. It took him some time and getting in the right situation at SF to start to blossom.

I'm not saying Gabbert can be a probowler, but I'm also hesitant to write the guy off after 1.5 years.

well your post seemed out of place, thought you were referring to UF's post. still not sure what your post was about considering he wasn't a "perennial college backup."

Man, I thought he would be pretty good after his first year. Injuries and a shitty team just wrecked his career.

Why?

I think it's the opposite. You'll see a lot less. No reason to reach to get your franchise QB when you get guys like Dalton, Russell Wilson, etc. later.
