If Tressel were to land a job at say either OM or Vandy, and if CUM was still at Florida, can you imagine how insane of a coaching crop that would be for the SEC. The SEC at that point would arguably have the best coaches in any single conference and any given time, in the history of college football

Don't we already?

And I think Tressel is damaged goods for a long time. He needs to fade into the background and go coach Portland State or someone nobody pays attention to.

Memphis Tigers should hire him. He'll be cheap right now, and they have arguably the worst coach in America in Larry Porter

how do you reach that conclusion?

I doubt Tressel ever coaches in college again.

Understatement of the day.

I dont even know if ESPN would take him at this point. He is about as tainted as it gets at the moment.

Considering a few years ago Tressel said he would retire in about 5 years, I don't see him going after another job.

Tressel won't coach in college again. I could see him being an athletic director somewhere when the dust settles down. But I doubt that too. I'm sure he has plenty of money and he'll retire. He can make money doing speaking engagements while he's retired and still make bank.

He'll start out as an ESPN analyst.

Then when he begins to sound like a nice guy again he'll move to something like South Florida.

Tressel-ball in the PAC 10? I don't think so; UCLA's entire history is wide-open pro-QB O and they've dipped as far into the NCAA non-compliance cookie jar with Rick as far as they will go and only because he was a former QB coach. Your reading and understanding of UCLA/PAC 10 is too periphery.

Al Bundy,

Mississippi State if Mullen leaves.

Would Miss State want him? That would be interesting. However, with that said, 2013 was going to be his last anyway.

Actually, in situations like this, this a time to hire a good coach that made a huge error; the reason is, he would be walking tightest rope there ever was.

I don't think Tressel will ever coach again, anywhere. I could possibly see him as an athletic director, but I think even that is a longshot.

Hmmm, and Michael Vick won't ever play in the NFL again with those character issues he has

Unless the NCAA bans him from coaching, he will coach again. All it takes is one D1 program to overlook his blunder and he's in. If he doesn't coach, it will be because he retires, not because he won't be able to find a prgram who will take him.

I could see him taking the Memphis job down the road. He isn't done in my opinion. This currnet saga will give way to another story at some point. People won't forget what has happened but they are always looking for the next quagmire to emerge.

He'll never coach in Div 1 again. He's too far along in years for his name to clear before another coaching gig comes along for him. He'll be fishing and hunting with Pat Dye here on out.
