No he hasn't. He's only been top 3 in WAR in a season twice. He's finished top 3 in the MVP voting three times total. He's a a Hall of Famer, but this is what ticks me off about Jeter fans... they wildly overstate how good he is when there's no earthly reason to. He's great. Why artificially inflate his record?

Serena would be up there...

There's such a large camp out there that loves to disparage her because of issues having nothing to do with tennis...and they cloak their personal disdain by either living in the past or complaining about PEDs or she underachieved with her talent b/c of laziness or indifference.

See big caps poster in this thread for full example.

Actually, the only problem I have with Serena is her bullshite when she loses. She rarely credits her victorious opponents for beating her, usually says something along the lines "she really just beat herself". Now some might say that's what you want in a competitor, but to me that's like a childlike response. You got outplayed, own up to it.

The only American I have never cheered for in international competition. I have even cheered for Venus.

Yet the numbers prove otherwise.

Another guy who is unjustly criticized is Peyton Manning.

And hell, let's throw coaches in the mix. Marty Schottenheimer gets too much hate.

Tiger Woods.
He has 7 pga wins in 2012 and 2013.

Thats more wins in 2 seasons than Hunter Mahan, Justin Rose, Brandt Snedeker, Bill Haas, Luke Donald, Matt Kuchar, Nick Watney, and Padraig Harrington have for their CAREERS.

Is he back?

Plus, the scandal was a bunch of media propaganda BS. Because Tiger's PR never addressed any of the allegations, every wannabe came out of the woodwork. The TW scandal will one day be a case study on how not to run PR campaign in the face of a scandal. In the end, the so called mistresses never offer any proof, pictures, videos, or mementos.

Since birth, he's been extraordinary in his craft. Child prodigy to adult master is rare. Slighting any aspect of his career is akin to slighting the achievements of other prodigy/masters: Picasso, Mozart, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Tesla, etc.

Hopefully the Dolphins can make some noise this year so Cam can get some recognition. Most fans have no idea that he is in the elite pass rusher class.

Romo is under-valued for how good he is at lifting the Cowboys up to at least compete for a playoff bid (when you consider his OL and RB support)

Of all the players in the NFL today I might point to Stephen Jackson - what he did with a horrible Rams franchise is incredible.

If we wanted to talk basketball I might give the nod to Kareem Abdul Jabbar. He should be in the discussion for greatest ever IMO but is often left out of top five and sometimes even top ten lists. FWIW this is just one more reason I dislike the GOAT discussions and top 5, 10, 20, 50 lists... very few people making those lists have any sort of appreciation for the players in the prime before they were out of their huggies

Meh, I meant SS
I know others have had better season but he has been consistent since he broke in and one of the best shortstops to play the position offensively
