You have to remember Anderson fought quite a number of fights at 170 lbs. Do you honestly think he was cutting 60 lbs?
well obviously he has beefed up over the years. He wasn't nearly as good back then either.

I would just like to point out after reading some of the recent posts that cutting weight and moving down to a lower weight class is not a sure fire recipe for success
Every fighter is different and it takes being integrally involved in that fighters development and training to know whether or not it is the right move.
Plenty of guys have tried to make the move and did not perform at a level they did at the higher weight, or the move turned out to be a lateral one in terms of success.
Just because a guy CAN make a lower weight doesn't mean he will be better at that weight. There are any factors that have to be explored and experimented with to know, and I can guarantee those guys that choose not to drop weight do so because they have explored it thoroughly and decided it would not help them

CroCop at 235..... I just don't see where he could lose 30 lbs

Maybe I just like Hendo too much.
There is no maybe. Anderson would murder him.

Who has Anderson beaten that was as good as Nogueira?
For Anderson's weight division I would say beating Belfort, Hendo, and Franklin are all great wins equal to the level of Fedor beating Nog and Cro Cop.

Top 5 IMO:
1. Silva
2. Fedor
3. Bones Jones
4. GSP
5. Henderson/Hughes
As of now, of course.

It took 7 pages for someone to mention Matt Hughes?

I'm not sure who's been mentioned. I only read the OP.

I went through the entire thread because not mentioning Hughes seems like a joke. He destroyed everyone in his prime.

He should've never be mentioned at all. He's not even the greatest WW of all time.

Hughes dominated the sport at a time when people were still one dimensional. His ability to mix pure wrestling with GNP and submissions allowed him to dominate. However, As the sport grew and people became more versatile he became obsolete.
He was a great fighter, but obviously not the best all time

Never said he was, which is why he's honorable mention at 5. Obviously, many guys deserve a mention.

That's almost like mentioning Teto

Burn!
Fwiw I agree with your top 4. The 5th is pretty difficult to decide.

It is. Wasn't trying to be a dick. Too many guys too good to be left out. Henderson and Hughes are on the next tier. That's jmo.

Anderson already did murder him.
For me, Anderson and GSP are 1 and 2.

Yeah but that was like 6 years ago and until the Chael fight it was the last time he was really challenged. Now, it wouldn't be close at all.
