Some what of a bad rap.
He was actually one of the first MLB players who embraced a rigid off season conditioning program
He started it after he turned 30 and put up huge numbers over the next 7 years and also credited his work regimen with saving his career.
He obviously ballooned up later in his career and wasn't in the best shape up until he started his off season work outs

Prime Chuck wasn’t fat. I make this argument all the time.
shite, prime Shaq was fatter than Prime Chuck. End of that lakers run when he was a dominating he had some fat. But as pointed out, it was sort of an advantage so it shouldn’t qualify.

Shout out to original HOF fatties...
Funny he was 6'2" and 275 but was considered huge at the time.
The average weight of an NFL lineman is 300 today.

How would you know he never plays.
Except for last year when he played pretty much an entire season and averaged 27 points on 60% shooting with almost historic efficiency?

Lifetime BA of .375
Which makes him the all time BA leader for a MLB pitcher (minimum 50 AB)

Both true.
But I feel the need to clarify:
The tub itself was fat but it was filled with goo. Hence...
"He (Forster) is a fat tub of goo..."

John Kruk, just for his response to a reporter.
"Ma'am, I'm not an athlete, I'm a baseball player."
