imo, these are the best 5 (in no particular order):

Georgia, Bammer, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio St

i think all 5 of those teams beats everyone else on a neutral field (yes including ohio st over texas)

Texas has the best win, but they do not look like a top 5 team since that win.

If Texas destroys us in the RRR, they deserve a spot. If it's close, I would leave Ohio St.

If OU was to pull off an upset. Just kick em out of the top 25.

Anyone that has Ohio St over Texas right now needs their head examined. That's just retarded.

At this point in the season, most teams have played only 4-5 games. Which means the one game is HUGE % of the resume. Texas beat Ohio St on the field. We can't bitch about top teams not playing each other anymore then ignore the results of those games when they do happen.

Until ND plays a tough team, and wins, then they’re not in my top 5

Beating UTSA by 24 , Tenn in Knoxville, and an off week

that displaces them from the top5?

It really just boils down to what you are discussing. Are we discussing how the rankings should be today or are we discussing who the 5 best teams are? Those are two different convos.

Ohio st is the betting favorite on a neutral field vs Texas. You know more than the wise guys now?

Looking forward to the Miami, BYU games. That is the best we can hope for to figure out ND.

I thought SMU would give them a game but they are too inconsistent.

The line is set at a number to get action, while that can be an indicator of an expert's expectation of the game result

it is not exactly entirely the same thing

I'm sure an expert in Vegas can set the line, and then pick the underdog
not legally maybe

ND is a bad matchup for SMU on top of that, and it’s in South Bend on November 21st - think Jennings is going to be seeing triple after that game.

I’ve been watching BYU off and on all year. The game is concerning because it’s in Provo and likely at night, but the actual team…eh. Their offense is going to struggle to move the ball against us. Defense is solid, but generally I don’t think they have the horses to run with the top dogs.

Miami is really good - good enough to win it all if they get healthy. And that’s their issue right now - they are majorly banged up…probably much more so than any of the other legitimate contenders. Weird given how soft their schedule has been, but Wake Forest oddly enough is a really physical team, and besides the injuries in that game, Fletcher and Toney were both banged up, they lost several starters, etc. They need to get healthy before the playoffs.

I don’t think there are 5 “best” teams in America right now. I think it’s Georgia, Alabama, and Miami. Then a huge drop off.

Favorite vs. Ranked higher.

Texas has to be ranked higher. Otherwise there is zero point to playing games.

UTSA is warmed up dogshit. Tennessee is a solid team but nothing special. Their qb will eventually be good but he’s still really raw right now.

No, they don’t deserve to be out of the top 5, especially for a team that they already beat. It’s just that they don’t look as good as the other 5 right now.
