I’m bored and tired of MJ threads, so here’s something else to discuss.

I’d go:

1. Mahomes
2. Wilson
3. Jackson
4. Brees
5. Brady

Yep, I’m leaving Rodgers out.

P&G glasses: [ON] OFF

Joe Burrow will top this list by this time next year.

I think that’s fair. Burrow will knock out one of the other Bs before next season, but I can live with those rankings.

He may be at some point, but the lack of a good team around him may make it take longer for him to get there.

Only leaving out Rodgers because he doesn’t have the same offensive weapons as the others. Only one of my 5 with less weapons or just slightly better weapons is Wilson.

If we are ranking by who I would want as my QB next year and next year only:

1) Mahomes
2) Wilson
3) Brees
4) Jackson
5) Rodgers

After those 4, it’s a bunch of QBs jumbled together. I guess I can live with Rodgers being at the top of this tier, but Watson is there as well, IMO.

That’s fair too if we’re going by wins and losses. I do think he’s got enough offensive weapons to put up some fairly good numbers early, though. Probably throw more picks than the top guys at 1st. But I honestly think he’s the kind of guy that can change the culture of a team—they may get better sooner than we think.

Any list that doesn't have Mahomes at the top with a mile wide gap between him and #2 is wrong

Watson/Lamar/Rodgers

I think Watson would translate to other systems better than Lamar would at this time. Lamar improved tremendously with his accuracy but my question is how much of that was Roman’s scheme getting him some really open looks. Would like to see him have to win a few games where the running game wasn’t working great and he just had to stand and out dual another good qb before I put him in the top 5 for good.

Rodgers would benefit tremendously from taking what the defense gives him more and not trying to continue making the impressive deep throws of his prime. Seems like those deeper routes continue to lead to him taking more hits and breaking down more and more.

That's a fair statement. Watson is one of those guys who I'd have right there at 6-8 probably. It'd help if he didn't have Bill O'Brien as his head coach.
