I also addressed this earlier in the thread. It's not so much about her as it is about the hypocrisy of Nolan and her colleagues calling out "privilege" when she's become rich for not doing much of anything.

Her show premiered on ESPN+ a year after she joined ESPN. Then it was moved to ESPN2 because it wasn't generating viewers or new subscribers.
Maybe the move to cable finally helped ratings, but she was making her money for a couple years without getting people to watch her on TV.

They have to fill hours on ESPN2. But she wasn’t moving the needle on the subscription service. People weren’t actively watching her. The move to cable seems like a test to see if people would watch her with a lower hurdle. I don’t think that happened either though.

Surprised at the response on this board. Nolan has never bothered me ... in reality she’s pretty irrelevant.
Whitlock is just a jealous bitch because he’s not making close to 7 figures like Nolan.
I, for one, hate jealous people. Especially when they’re mad over an attractive female. Sorry Whitlock, you get more opportunities when you’re hot. It’s been that way since the beginning of time.

Well, yeah
That is kind of the essence of what he wrote. Unless Nolan believes her sex appeal is something merit based then I don't see what factual rebuttal she can offer.
If she were smart enough to make her case I think that would be the best argument (my physical appeal does relate directly to my value as a broadcaster). But, in large part because she is not smart enough to make a meaningful rebuttal, Wllborn's dismissal of her as a lightweight has merit.
I am not a big Doug Gottleib fan for a few reasons but seeing an ugly guy being critical of a beautiful but debatable unqualified female broadcaster is interesting because that doesn't happen as often as it should when the person screwing up is beautiful. The "halo effect" of charisma is a disproportionate component of the broadcasting credentials of the less qualified television personalities.

Please tell me how he's an idiot in this particular case? He's not just calling out Katie Nolan because she's hot and rich. He's calling her out because she's hot and rich and has the nerve to speak out against white male privilege. She's just as privileged and thus a hypocrite.

She never claimed she wasn’t privileged. In fact she admitted as such. Why can’t she speak about that?
She won awards before ESPN hired her.
Whitlock comes across as bitter and jealous because someone else is having success while he has been fired from every major network he has been on. Instead of owning up to his failures he has to blame someone else.
Now he is writing for a 3rd rate site while pandering to that audience. Whitlock is a joke where she has had multiple people take her back saying that she works hard at her job and is still employed by ESPN.
