I think his most valid overlooked point was that some people can’t succeed in a meritocracy despite all they claim to ask for is an even playing field.

Honestly, being attractive is part of the merits needed to be a woman on TV. Some women are able to make up the difference in other areas, but to say that looks aren’t part of the equation is a lie.

Well there’s no reason to come at her if you understand that.

He's coming at her because SHE understands that but is out there telling white men to check their privilege when she's a multi-millionaire. That's what we call hypocritical. What's the line Bill Burr uses? "Bitch! You're sitting in the hot tub next to me!"

that's a retarded comparison.

a better comparison would be cocaine mitch and crazy nancy.

eta: is there anything that suggests he is anything more than cordial with her?

Excellent post.
The original premise for Whitlock wasn't even about Nolan. Her response to being used as an example made him expand his original intention and even then the premise of the article isn't really about her. It's about hypocritical folks calling out others for "privilege", white or otherwise, when they themselves are benefactors of the same privilege yet refuse to call each other out for for it. Why the mentions of Jones, Hill, Le Betard etc. They're screaming injustice to outsiders but refuse to call out their own. Nolan is just the instrument in his overall thought. One she didn't have to be but instead chose to poke the bear.
Now she'll likely play more of a victim and have those same lackeys defend her from the evil Whitlock. I hope they do and he responds even further. Maybe it will turn into an all out rap battle. One thing in all of this we know, Whitlock will not parse words. He has absolutely nothing to lose. Same with his LeBron hypocrisy article. The man with nothing to lose is the one best served to dish comeuppances.

This thread is full of so many Soyboy Knights(the future of this country doomed longhaul)..

JW, in burning Leftist bridges or not, and forever distancing self from the media giants that formerly employed him by speaking truth to power..

The man has never been more spot-on, blazing with harsh and sometimes brutal truth, broaching topics others run away from, yet totally calling it on the square.

Whitlock has never been more precise and in his element, than these recent months..

A mature man speaking honesty in a dangerous and teetering time in our society.

I've always liked her in amusing bits & skits. Seems like a decent and yet overpaid if in the 250K range type talent payday..

Jemelle with a 10M net worth, with Katie making 1M per?

They just throw coin around nowadays..

Tom Mees must be rolling over in his grave? Gayle Gardner shaking her head?

Nolan is Michael Brown, hands up don’t shoot. We all know it’s a lie but we continue with the facade because it’s not worth the backlash.

You’re this close to making an actual point about the expectation of women to not only be good at their job but also beautiful, but actual points don’t pay the bills huh. Keep this same energy next time I see you though.”

So he decided to write an entire article on how useless she is. She responded by making her Twitter account private.

Whitlock went after Maria Taylor first and mentioned Nolan in that article.

Katie Nolan responded on Twitter calling him out.

He talks about how she is the end of the meritocracy, but isn't that exactly what black people want? To not be judged on their abilities, rather be given stuff like jobs and benefits simply because they're black?

I dunno, seems kind of petty. What did Nolan do to him?

I read an article a while ago about how ESPN paid her all this money, yet they couldn't figure out what to do with her. I get that she's a cute, quirky chick who likes sports, but I honestly can't think of anything notable she has done beyond that.

Then that’s on ESPN. Good for her for capitalizing on the market for her.

but he makes some fair points

Maybe, but why? To what end? I like Whitlock a lot, but this seems pretty petty and completely unnecessary.

read the article. it's not really about nolan. it's her hypocritical peers.

her million dollar salary *should* be going to someone more qualified and talented(preferably a woman of color)
