My cousin has had season tickets to LSU games for 20 years. He says the loudest game he's ever attended was LSU v. Okla. in the Georgia Dome for the NC. No place for the noise to go with the roof.

Clemson's Death Valley as well as Oregon's stadium are both built into the ground.
wouldn't being built into the ground hinder stadium noise? Michigan Stadium is built into the ground and isn't not loud at all.
Clemson's stadium is so loud because of the steep stands, same with Tiger Stadium, BHG, Husky Stadium, etc. What really gives Husky stadium an advantage is the roof they have over the two grandstands. The noise is directed straight down at the field.
and Autzen is built into the ground but it is still above ground

Thats why Lane Stadium is loud as well, the ground provides a sound wall.
nope, the stands are very steep at Lane Stadium

Louisiana Tech has the same design advantages as Oregon and Clemson. It can get awfully loud on the field in Ruston when the crowd gets excited, at least for the size of crowds we get, and it does rattle WAC teams.

I've heard that Oregon's tailgating sucks, but I've never been there, so I can't back that up on personal experience.
I am sure you heard that from fellow husky fans. Take out the view and your tailgating is like OSU. I am not talking about the view or the ability to boat across Lake Washington. Talking about tailgating.....I have been to both stadiums and the tailgating is much much better at Autzen. Also, I have seen stories published that back up what I am saying. They actually state Autzen has the best gameday experience in the Pac Ten fwiw.
Also, just because it is recorded at an all time high doesn't mean this is the way the stadium is all the time. Presently Husky stadium isn't in the conversation.
I can only compare from my experiences on how loud the stadiums are. Here is my best example and it happens to be when you all were relevant....2000 season (I know you remember that one) I was at the Ducks/Husky game in Autzen and the following weekend I was at the Beaver/Husky game at Udub. Both games were very exciting. Your stadium can get very loud but I could hear the difference between the two. Part of that is probably because you are so far away from the field. Don't forget Husky stadium holds 15k more. eta...I just remembered, that game was done before the expansion that brought in 15k more seats. So Oregon had like 47k at that game compared to 72k for you.
eta....presently it is far from its former self but I understand why that is. You all got good and loud for the LSU game but it was quiet as hell about the 8 minute mark in the third quarter against the Ducks last year. When the fourth quarter started the stadium was half empty

yea they are steep but the stadium is basically surrounded by natural walls which traps in noise.
When i went down there i thought it would be louder tho

Look, smartass, I was commenting on the shape of the stadium and how it affects the sound. No, we don't have huge, ear-splitting crowds and I'm not an idiot. It's loud FOR the amount of people there.
FWIW, the loudest I've ever heard was the Superdome when it's really rockin', but that's indoors, which is a totally different matter.

My buddies went to a State/Oregon game a few years back and said it was loud for a stadium that only holds about 55,000.

If we ever get to the size of crowds that places like Oregon or Clemson get, we should have a pretty ear-splitting homefield advantage. Even with just 30k people, it does get surprisingly loud sometimes. Louisiana people are loud anyway at sporting events, and Tech's stadium is built into the ground and curved just right, so that the sound resonates a lot.

Washington's stadium has those huge roofs over the two stands.

LOL at people who say they can tell which is louder between top 10 stadiums in noise. In fact

LSU/Florida in 2007 was the loudest game I've ever been to. I was even sitting by some people Penn State and a few guys from Canada who were amazed by it. I really wish games could be like that again. They used to be a blast.

yeah but Oregon noise never registered on a seismograph like tiger stadium did
many stadiums would register on a seismograph if one is near

Husky Stadium has been recorded as the loudest stadium in the nation. This is in part due to the stadium's design; almost 70 percent of the seats are located between the end zones, covered by cantilevered metal roofs.
It was significantly louder than I expected when I went last year, especially with the endzones basically being open
