Jordan or tiger because of the proliferation of the internet and international televison feeds. It's simply much easier for people around the world to connect with American sports than its ever been

Damn dude I didn't know every person in the world had access to the net....
yet in the 70's, the WORLD had access to Ali

There are over two billion internet users in world. You're vastly overrating the access people globally had in the 70s

Please realize that Ali traveled the world going to areas that you probably didn't know existed. Humans who could not tell you what 2+3 equals know who Ali is/was

Jordan. Not only did he have worldwide recognition, he was chiefly responsible for Nike becoming the powerhouse that it is.

Ali.
People around the globe knew him in spite of the lack of technology Jordan and others who came after him had the advantage of.

But at the time of Donovan's peak, probably pretty high.
not as high as that soccer chick that took her shirt off
Despite the Rumble in the Jungle & the Thriller in Manilla , I going with the guy that made a movie with Bugs Bunny that made 1/4 billion worldwide.

Tiger Woods.
If ali or jordan walked into a 3rd grade class, no one would know who he is including the 20 something year old teacher.
If ali or jordan walked into psych 101 on major college campus, 30% of the students wouldn't recognize them.
If ali and jordan stood in the middle of:
people's square in shanghai
times square in new york
tokyo
paris
rome
jerusalem
jakarta
half the people would either not know who they were or would mistake them for other famous black public figures.
Tiger woods would be easily be one of the 10 most instantly reconizable living persons in the world:
Obama
GWBush
Bill Clinton
Queen Elizabeth II
Pope
Tiger Woods
Tony blair
?
