I recall people wanted to see Elway get a ring

This was absolute worst case scenario. There’s only 1 Super Bowl I didn’t watch in my life and it was the last time these 2 teams played. Cant stand either one of them. However, I’m leaning eagles this time. Enough is enough with the chiefs

Their first game was actually awesome. Hurts balled out the first half but his defense let him down.

Rockets' run to the Finals will be magical

This ranks as second to me only behind Patriots vs Rams in SB ( Rams getting in bc of the no call PI BS).
Washington vs Buffalo was the ideal matchup. Detroit vs Buffalo would have been great too.
Not much interest in this game. Going to be hard for fans outside of those markets to watch it as this on many platforms was the SB matchup that was voted the least to be wanted.
I don't know if "ideal" is the right term; it's what I wanted to see, but they weren't the best teams. That's what the Chiefs-Eagles represents, but the rematch aspect as well as the Mahomes preferential treatment with the Swifty angle make it less exciting than it could have been outside of the respective fan bases and the Swifties.

Rarely in the SB do you get the best teams. Only 14 times have the No 1 seed in both conferences have met in the SB. Detroit and Minnesota on paper were the best teams in the NFC and they lost their first playoff games.
From a pure entertaining and compelling storyline the SB would have had for 2 weeks, Washington vs Buffalo would have been the best matchup. Based off the 4 remaining squads.
In a perfect world a Detroit vs Buffalo matchup would have been great. One team finally would get their SB championship.

This game is going to have great ratings lol

My counter to that is if what were considered the consensus best teams at the beginning of the playoffs, then they should have gone all the way. That they didn't means they aren't the best teams.
Detroit had a rough go; can't have all those injuries and expect to take it all the way. Washington is just on the cusp; sky is the limit with Daniels and the culture the coaching staff has established.
Buffalo was right there with the game in their hands. They couldn't get the last score when they needed it, and then the defense couldn't hold to give them one more shot.
I ultimately agree with you on what I'd like to have seen, but I can't argue that it's a top-notch matchup for the Super Bowl. It was a close one between them the last time, and I think Saquon tips the scales for the Eagles this time.

This is dumb. 2 great teams are playing. I don't have a rooting interest, so I'd like a good game.

Going into the season, this would have been one of the top 3 most likely I would think. People thought these teams would be good so I don't think it's something no one wants.
Do you want the best teams playing? it's #1 in the AFC vs #2 in the NFC. I wanted Lions/Bills but it's not like it's a 5 seed and a 7 seed. I personally still believe the Texans did enough to beat the Chiefs

1980 seems like it was a dud. One of the worst teams in the playoffs - Tom Flores' wildcard Raiders beat one of the least interesting (Eagles). And it was kind of sandwiched in between two big eras - the 70s with the Cowboys/Steelers rivalry, Shula's Dolphins, Minnesota's Purple People Eaters, Don Coryell's Air Raid in San Diego, etc. plus the 80s with the 49ers, Giants, Joe Gibbs Redskins, etc.

The first Super Bowl I recall watching happened in 1984 when the Raiders routed the Redskins, for reference.
Match-ups I was really bummed to see since then were...
Broncos-Falcons in 1999 (Atlanta doesn't belong in the big game. It just feels wrong.)
Rams-Titans in 2000
Ravens-Giants in 2001 (Despise the Ravens, especially back then. Ugly uniforms and uglier football.)
Ravens-49ers in 2013
Anytime the Chiefs and 49ers matched-up.

While Super Bowl XXV is regarded as one of the best games ever, just imagine the match-up we would have been treated to if that year's conference championships had gone the other way.
We'd have seen the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Los Angeles Raiders at a time when that would've really meant something.

I was hoping for a Lions/Bills super bowl, I think that would have been different and entertaining
