The back and forth in this thread is such a miserable adventure.

Holy frick you are dumb. It’s the same game with the same desired outcome. It’s called softball because 100 years ago when it was invented they used a soft ball. That’s literally the only reason it’s called something different. Nothing to do with strategy or equipment.

quote:

And please, in your next post bring up the differences between mens and womens basketball so we can get back to that underlined portion again.

Different ball size and 3 point line distance.

quote:

Because your position is that just because something isn’t going to bring society to an end that it’s not worth worrying about.

My position is that labeling the baseball CWS as the mens CWS gives a nod to the softball CWS, signaling that it is not THE CWS. And I’ve already posted how the WCWS is a more popular TV product.

quote:

Has a man dominating collegiate womens swimming threatened to end society, yes or no?

No you fricking weirdo. It’s stupid and wrong and ridiculous but it’s not going to be the death of America

This is by far one of the most retarded threads in this boards history and you are certainly one of the dumbest fricks to ever post here and this is literally my first time noticing you. Congrats on catching my attention.

I'm just grateful that our own Ben MacDonald is based AF and would never call it the "mens" CWS

Nah you had to search high and low for that - definitely wasn't common nomenclature

Holy frick you are dumb.

You literally typed my argument as part of your point in a previous post. And somehow forgot to even mention it again in this one.

If I’m dumb, what does that make you?

quote:

It’s the same game with the same desired outcome.

It isn’t the same game.

Every game has the same desired outcome.

quote:

It’s called softball because 100 years ago when it was invented they used a soft ball. That’s literally the only reason it’s called something different. Nothing to do with strategy or equipment.

So your position is that the only difference between these 2 games is the softness of the ball that it’s played with?

“Holy frick you are dumb.”

quote:

Different ball size and 3 point line distance.

Tell us, what is the name of these 2 games with these different ball sizes and 3pt line distance?

quote:

My position is that labeling the baseball CWS as the mens CWS gives a nod to the softball CWS, signaling that it is not THE CWS. And I’ve already posted how the WCWS is a more popular TV product.

Thats a completely different position than the one you are responding to this with. Funny how many things someone as dumb as I apparently am can say that you’re afraid to answer.

Baseball and softball are 2 different sports recognized by the ncaa, with 2 different names and played 2 different genders.

1 of them actually can be played by both genders. So in it’s latest virtue signaling stupidity, if one day a woman actually does play on a baseball team that makes the college world series, what are they going to call it?

And on the flip side, in the near future when they allow another man claiming he is a woman to play on a softball team in the college World Series, what are they going to call it? Actually that question isn’t necessary, we’ve already seen that one.

quote:

o you fricking weirdo. It’s stupid and wrong and ridiculous but it’s not going to be the death of America

If it’s not going to be the death of America then why are you worried enough about it to say it’s stupid and wrong and ridiculous? That’s your entire position on why mens/womens cws isnt a big deal.

quote:

This is by far one of the most retarded threads in this boards history and you are certainly one of the dumbest fricks to ever post here

You’re so angry about all the “dumb” people in this thread showing how incredibly stupid and incapable of consistently applying logic you are.

quote:

this is literally my first time noticing you. Congrats on catching my attention.

I don’t crave attention from people that are incapable of coming up with a logically supported argument.

I was trying to get to the end of the thread so I could let y’all know that I have a pennant from 2013 , 2009, and 2016 that all say mens colleges World Series. Looks like it’s been proven already though.

This thread is what happens when people go out of their way to find something to be offended by. You know, like the dims you hate.
I’m right wing for sure ,but not as extreme right as most on here and it continues to prove to be a good position

There’s just a certain irony in the people who flood the board with SJW snowflake posts who are literally crying over an “M.”

For the record I think it’s kinda dumb and it’s obvious that ESPN is doing this for branding purposes. But it is what it is and it’s stupid to cry about it. This is not the hill to die on.

There's no irony at all. We see that it's an obvious PC move by ESPN, and we're calling them out on the silliness of it. There is a big difference between that, and the actual "snowflakes", who literally call for the cancellation of individuals, over something as dumb as not using the "proper" pronoun to describe someone, even if said pronoun is biologically correct.

You're comparing two types of criticisms that are not remotely alike.

Thank you for being informative. I wasn’t trying to flame this board, I was really curious. We could’ve ended this thread on the first page with that response.

The WCWS destroyed the MCWS in ratings last year. Now, the WCWS had most of its games on the main ESPN while the MCWS had about half.

I think that being on big ESPN is part of it, but I really enjoy the softball. Most people that I know who are not big followers of either seem to prefer the WCWS.
