Will he be considered one of the GOAT?
At running full speed into walls even though there is no realistic chance to catch the ball? Absofrickinglutely.
At everything else? Too soon to say.

If Griffey's career hadn't been derailed by injuries, there's no telling what his final numbers would have been. That guy was fun to watch. IMO, he and Will Clark had the sweetest swings in baseball.

Best seasons for a 19 year old?
Mel Ott
Tony Conigliaro
Ty Cobb
Mickey Mantle
Jimmy Sheckard
Bryce Harper
Cesar Cedeno
Buddy Lewis
LINK
So, looking at that list, there's three Hall of Famers there. Tony Conigliaro was on pace until he took a baseball to the head. So... really looking at his comps, it's not out of line to say right now that Bryce Harper has nearly a 50% chance of putting together a Hall of Fame career. That's pretty amazing.
He also could be Cesar Cedeno. Probably not, though.

if the first couple people replied to this thread seriously, most people would have. unfortunately for you, they decided to frick you.
i dont see the issue with the discussion, it's a fricking message board where the purpose is to do shite like this. people calling you dumb are also probably the people telling other posters "not to look ahead in the schedule" or "dont overlook that game."

His career retrospective was quite interesting. The dude peaked at age 21 with a 162 OPS+, 7.8 WAR, and gold glove.

No, I compared him to Adrian Beltre. I said, IIRC, that Harper could be a Hall of Famer, but I hate comparing prospects to Hall of Famers because it's so grossly unfair to everybody. I said his minor league numbers looked like Beltre's and he could have a career like his (which you said would be a horrible disappointment, which I still don't understand).
Inky was a a big fat guy who belted homers and had the mobility of a rock. That was Dan that made that comp. I didn't agree with that one. I still don't get it, especially since he was a college player, and Harper is far more advanced at age 20 than Inky was.

People, when y'all go to start a thread, and you wonder if it's a stupid thread...please use this as an example of a stupid thread and compare yours to it before hitting submit.

I used Incaviglia as a comparison for a guy with a ton of power and low average.
Obviously I was wrong. But I wasn't saying, "Oh he's Pete Incaviglia!"
Joke is well played out by now anyhow.
