Because Brady scrambles on his feet literally every other play, amirite?

Lets just make a friendly wager then

$500 that Mahomes still has a great year next year and is right in the middle of the MVP hunt

He may never throw 50 TDs again (since that's fricking insane), but he threw half the interceptions with a higher completion percentage and only 2 less yards per game this year.

The advanced analytics people have said he got historically lucky with interceptions.

There is a better chance of Mahomes never winning another Super Bowl at all than winning 2-3 more. shite is really hard—that’s what makes Brady’s career just so incredible.

It is, and at the end of the day, the rush to "GOAT" someone cheapens the discussion. Nobody was calling Brady the GOAT after his first 2-3 SB appearances, nor should they have been. Mahomes is a transcendent talent. Who knows--he COULD end up being the GOAT, if a thousand factors both in and well outside his control go exactly right. But there's no need to rush to have that discussion right now. Just enjoy his accomplishment and talent. Worst case scenario, this could be the absolute best of Mahomes--and that's still utterly remarkable.

Or more specifically to your fandom, Clayton Kershaw won his 3rd Cy Young (and the friggin MVP) in 2014 when he was only 26. How many Cy Youngs would your 2014 self had thought he’d have by now? Or how many he’d wind up with? I’d bet just about everything I have it’d have been more than 3.
I would never even remotely try to predict pitcher performance as those are the single most fragile athletes in all of sport

I honestly don't think it's crazy to have a real expectation that mahomes can pull together 3 more runs over his career. No one has been this good, this early. The Patriots were an aberration, and so is mahomes

3, I'd definitely agree.

It may be close, but I'd personally bet that it's more likely he gets 2 more than 0 more.

I believe it.

You could still add last year's INT total to this year's and it would be less than any Brady year until he turned 30.

I think they charted him with 16 dropped interceptions this season

It’s a game with 22 starters and then specialists.

Tom Brady has literally had games where he posted a 265 1 pick statline in the Super Bowl and won.

His first Super Bowl involved a pick 6 and 48 yard FG to win.

He’s a great all time QB but only using team accomplishments to measure his worth is absurd.

Which facts? You directly contradicted your self in cl consecutive posts

In one list you say wins is what defines a QB for you, then in your very next post you allude to the fact it wasn’t the QB that decided Sundays game

That’s next level metal gymnastics there

LOL

His only Super Bowl win, was aided by the San Fran team reenacting the Falcons-NE super bowl. San Fran also didnt have a QB. Had they had even an average QB, they beat Chiefs by 20+

Then got waxed by a team who had a QB.

Outside of maybe mobility, what of these has Rodgers, Mahomes immediate comparison, lost?

Mahomes cap hit was less than 6 mil this past year. It jumps to 24 next year 31 the next and then sits in the 40s forever until they renegotiate.

It will be interesting to see how KC's front office handles the roster over the next 4-5 years. I haven't looked to see who all is due a new contract in the next couple years, but with Mahomes' deal and Kelce's (which was like 55m through '25) it's gonna take some guys just wanting to stay and possibly chase rings or leave and get paid a pile of money. That or getting extremely lucky in the draft.

I just don't see how they'll be able to hold onto the core of that team without a couple guys taking pay cuts for the chance to hoist the trophy a couple times. I guess we will see.

Great point. Rodgers still looked youthful this year and won MVP

He is 12 years older than Mahomes People in here are acting like Mahomes is 3 years from a walker

Brady literally played with receivers that can't start elsewhere.

Where’s the proof that Edelman/Welker wouldn’t have been an elite slot WR somewhere else?

Welker had ten TDs with Manning.

Are we also ignoring the Randy Moss years?

The elite Gronk/Hernandez two TE years?

Brady has almost always had some form of elite/top weapon at his disposal whether it was Gronk, Moss, Hernandez, Welker/Edelman,

Mahomes first year as a starter was right on par with Brady's best year ever, and he won a super bowl in year 2.

His statistical trajectory is insane.

What year did Brady win his first Super Bowl?
