re: What's the most iconic stadium in American Sports?

From an historical perspective, I go with:
Yale Bowl (1914) Design inspired the Rose Bowl, La Coliseum, and the Big House to name just three. Plus, the Yale Bowl gave the Rose Bowl its name which gave the Super Bowl its name.
Harvard Stadium (1903) Basically established the dimensions of the football field. In 1906, the PTB wanted to widen the field by 40 yards to improve safety. Because that could not accommodate Harvard's Stadium's dimensions, they decided to retain the current measurements as it was inconceivable to have a field dimension which couldn't accommodate Harvard's Stadium.

Rose Bowl: Opened in October 1922, the stadium is recognized as a National Historic Landmark. Hosted the Final of the 1994 men's WC and the 1999 Women's WC. Oldest CFB Bowl game.
Coliseum: also a National Historical Landmark. Will have hosted 3 Olympics, 1932, 1984, 2028. USC, Rams, Raiders, UCLA, Dodgers have all called it home at one point.
I think it's a debate between these two but Fenway has an argument.

I know this but to say it’s pretty regional is false
Nation wide people will say Fenway and Wrigley as their top two

I think you're right about the Coliseum's history, but if you asked Americans or internationals to envision an iconic American stadium I think they'd go to Fenway or Wrigley. If they're old enough - Yankee Stadium. I think everyone goes "oh yeah, that too!" to the Rose Bowl but I'm not sure it comes to mind instantly for most.
Honestly I don't think the Coliseum fares nearly as well if we use a standard like that.
MSG was a good mention, although I think it's a name more than anything else. I don't think it brings to mind an image like the others do for most people.

Wrigley, Fenway, Lambeau, Colosseum.

Compared to wrigley it is. Whole different level

What? Lol. So your tactic was just to NOT be successful in proving your point. Tight.

Only if they're baseball fans.
With the Coliseum, you could remember it from the 84 Olympics, USC football or the Rams/Raiders.
The Rose Bowl used to host the Super Bowl, it obviously has the Rose Bowl and UCLA football.
I think the Coliseum and Rose Bowl actually would connect with broader segments of fans in America and internationally, because they cross over more.

No it isn’t
They’re both nationally recognizable and iconic stadiums

MAPFRE Stadium.

Wouldn't say it's iconic, but it had a pretty rich history for only being around for 20 years. Hosted 6 Women's World Cup games in 2003, 10 USMNT WCQ matches (including 5 against Mexico), was the first professional soccer specific stadium in the US which paved the way for the majority of the current stadiums in MLS and some in the lower levels.

Eh, I don't think being a fan of a particular sport matters that much once you get to this level of name/visual recognition.
As for your point, Rose Bowl yes. Casual and non-sports fans know it from the parade and the Rose Bowl is a highly iconic American event that shares the name with the venue. Hard to overstate that when you're talking about recognition to non-sports folks.
I just think we're overestimating the number of people who pay attention to/can recall events in the Coliseum. The number of very casual and non-sports fans (and non-Californians) who could even name the Coliseum would be surprisingly low, I think. Honestly I think a lot of non-sports people would mistake it for the Rose Bowl, because they know the "Rose Bowl" name much better but would recognize the Coliseum as an LA-area venue.

The superdome is a shithole.

Dunno, I feel like if you showed this shot (minus the words, of course) of the Coliseum to anyone who was around in 84, they'd get it.

MLB: Fenway or Wrigley (Old Yankee Stadium, Polo Grounds)
NFL: Lambeau (Agree with Jerryworld but for different reasons)
NBA: MSG (not sure any other current ones come close)
NCAAB: Cameron Indoor, Allen Fieldhouse, The Palestra
NCAAF: Rose Bowl, LA Coliseum
I definitely could see the Superdome being "iconic". It's easily recognizable when they show the outside shots New Orleans and it's hosted some very memorable events.
I'm a Saints fan, and I think Lambeau is definitely the "iconic" venue for the NFL
