This is a tired and lazy take. You don’t have to be an alum or have attended either school to be a fan of either or dare I say… both.

I know the Cajun people of south Louisiana are a prideful bunch and that if they see another Louisiana CFB team dominating, after a while they’d come around and support them. The reality of this situation is that very few people who didn’t go to UL will be fans of the team barring an insane run of success in football. Like Multiple undefeated seasons. Multiple top 15 finishes etc.

I absolutely agree, but I’m just pointing out what the reality is.

True. And I’m ok with that reality.

I just like to call out the loser LSU fans who say things like “we’re awesome and in the SEC, and yall are just juco”, when their “we” means they bought a shirt at Academy.

Bandwagon fans are awesome and I wish our program could get something, but calling yourself “we” as if you had some actual connection, and at the same time putting down another program, when all you did is buy a t shirt is loser.

By the way, I’m paying tuition currently for one of my kids to attend LSU. I have zero ill will to the school.

Theoretically that should be easier to acheive against not an SEC schedule

I agree. I don’t like when people use “we” in regards to anything sports related. LSU saints UL etc. It’s cringy.

Unless you’re on the team or are a former player you don’t get to say “We”

Well if you’re playing an SEC schedule, you likely have a $90 Million+ athletic budget.

So when you have a $30 Million athletic budget and play at least one P5 team, no, it’s not necessarily easy to achieve.

NIL $$$ and the right coach

you get some NIL and the right coach, and you can win, or at least put you in a position to win.

Look at Missouri bball, not great, 2 many transfers, but they have/had a top3-5 class, because of NIL, and new state law on nil for in state kids.

You get that $$$ behind you, and a coach, who likes the $$$, and it can happen. wouldnt be a yearly thing, but a few runs every 5-7 years. I'd take that if i was a Missouri in football, and ULL in football.

Ray Authement actually proactively tried to choke and strangle athletics. He desired us to be a DIII program with no athletic scholarships.

100%. I experienced it first hand as a student-athlete there. The school’s budget for baseball was 0 dollars and they paid coaches absolute trash. What Robe was able to build during Authement’s tenure is why he will always be the goat for me

There have been cries the past 4-5 yrs for LSU to play either / or USL & Tulane. Both have had their best seasons, 2-3 yrs in a row at times, but then the flash-in-the-pan programs they are rise to the top. But the killer is their attendance. tulane played for its league championship 2 weeks ago & its stadium was far from full, let alone packed. No fan of USL but I haven't seen any attendance figures that show any fan support. If their fans don't care, why should anyone in college football?

It’s the worst administration in the country. Top to bottom.
Coaches have to fight the AD, compliance, admin, legal, and janitorial to get ANYTHING done there. The whole damn school is a “No” 1st loser mentality administration.
You want anything respectable there? Overhaul from the top down

The first step would be to stop calling themselves ‘UL’

This is the answer. Start by taking pride in who you are as opposed to pretending to be something you aren't.

Does not having an on-campus stadium contribute to this ?
