We used to watch the matches at the Teamsters Hall off Airline in Baton Rouge. That was before they moved to the Centroplex downtown. We always had rows 1-3 there. It was awesome being right on top of the action.

Jim Crockett Promotions. Their roster in the late 1980's was unmatched.

OK I’m going to date myself and I don’t think any film or tape exists, but Atlanta wrestling from the mid-1960s through the 1970s. The figurehead promoter was a dude named Paul Jones but the actual promoter was Ray Gunkel, one of the wrestlers. He dropped dead after a match in Savannah in 1972 and touched off the famous Atlanta Wrestling War when his widow ran opposition against the NWA.
Any Georgia folks out there remember The Assassins, Tom Renesto and Joe Hamilton, the greatest tag team there ever was, or El Mongol, who was billed as being from Lima, Peru, but actually was a Hispanic dude named Raul Molina who owned a Mexican restaurant in retirement?

I barely remember WCW and didn't start watching until Cena. Jake Roberts had some interesting shoots. He still hates the Honky Tonk Man.

I remember that it started at like 8PM eastern and go on until 3AM hosted by Joe Pedicino and Bonnie Blackstone who were married.

Yup. I’d watch NWA on 17 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and then switch over to 36.

In the mid 60s, used to watch the wrestling matches at the St. Bernard "Cultural" Center. Dr. Death, Cowboy Bill Watts, Ivan Putski, The Spoilers, Terry Roberts Sr and Jr, and Grizzly Smith.

Steve Williams started wrestling in the 80s, he was born in 1960.

I remember Ivan Putski. The Polish Hammer. I also remember Skandar Akbar before he was a heel. Young me loved the cinema of professional wrestling.

For me, it was the NWA. They had Bobo Brazil, Haystacks Calhoun, Dick the Bruiser and The Sheik. Watch it in the 60's and 70's out of Detroit.

Being a wrestling fan in 1980s Shreveport was awesome. We went to see Mid-South live when most weekly tapings were held here, but also got to see all of the WCCW stuff too because we got channels over the air from the Dallas market.
