What team underachieved the most in what would have been "dynastic" years?

no rules or regulations..

First team that popped in my head was the atlanta braves in the 90s even though they did win a championship.

Braves are a great call

90s Bills are an obvious one.

OKC had Durant, Westbrook, and Harden and made the Finals once and didn’t win…

As a diehard Saints fan, the Saints should have at least two more Super Bowl trophies in the case (2011 & 2018). If the Minneapolis Miracle doesn't occur, then 2017 becomes a possible other season a Super Bowl victory becomes real.

It depends on your definition of “good season”, I think they had more than one, but they don’t belong here I don’t think. They topped out as a second round team, the process never led to that second star that could properly compliment Embiid and Embiid just hasn’t been healthy enough

They were never even indisputably the best team in the league. They had a nice roster and had a chance for a 3 or 4 year stretch, but I don’t even know if they would have ever even been favored to win in the Finals

Brooklyn won the NL pennant 6 times in the 10 years prior to leaving for LA, but only won one World Series.

The late 90s Mariners seemed to underachievers considering they had 4 hall of famers in the team.
Griffey, Randy Johnson, Edgar Martinez, and Alex Rodriguez. Best they did was 90 wins in '97. Never even made the World Series.

Chargers. Even had a year with the number 1 offense and defense… but didn’t make the playoffs.

The mid to late 90s Indians are always my answer for a question like this. Right as I started seriously following baseball, one of the most talented teams I can remember. Incredible they never even won one title.

The 2015-20 era Cubs are one for me. They seemed to be set up for such a long window of contention and multiple titles and won the one in 2016, which is all that should matter for Cubbies fans. But I never would have guessed that group would basically all be gone just a few years later and never make it back to the WS

90s Braves are the gold standard for underachieving.

I'd put Peyton Manning's Colts in this discussion, too. They had some inexplicable playoff losses and should have won more than one Super Bowl.

The 2017 Saints would have lost to Philly in the NFCCG.

2011 and 2018 could have won the Super Bowl.
