It's not a huge advantage, but he's pretty much a better player. What do you think Bosh does better than Gasol?

I was really excited about the Celtics signing O'neil but then I realized he is not all that useful. Hopefully that will change.

Gasol is just a better player.

Gasol, even when he was "the man" in Memphis, never averaged more thatn 20 PPG

Bosh has averaged over 22 PPG over the last 5 years. scoring 24 PPG last year

last year was Gasol's first year rebounding in double figures. Bosh has done it 3 times already.

you're a LakerTard

lets look at their career numbers

Bosh 20 PPG

Gasol 18 PPG

Bosh 9.4 RPG

Gasol 9.0 RPG

Bosh 2.4 APG

Gasol 3.4 APG

Bosh 1.2 BLK

Gasol 1.7 BLK

Bosh 49% FG

Gasol 52 % FG

Bosh 79% FT

Gasol 74% FT

man Gasol is soooo much better

Maybe you can explain to me how career numbers are even remotely relevant to these two guys now, because I don't see what merit that has at all. So Gasol was soft and afraid to bang with other bigs in the past, what does that have to do with now? He let Boston push him around in 2008, but he was the aggressor this season. Career numbers aren't indicative of the two players now.

Currently:

better low post game? Gasol
better offensive game? Gasol
better passer? Gasol
better defender? Gasol
better rebounder? Gasol
more experienced? Gasol

Tell me what Bosh does right now better than Gasol.

I think Gasol is the best PF in the league and a case could be made for him being the best overall big man, but he's not just going to dominate Bosh.

It's amazing how Bosh has gone from being slightly overrated to vastly underrated in a matter of months - at least on this board.

The Thunder could take them to 7 games.

The Lakers will beat them in 2011. It'll be tough for the Heat to win with Juwan Howard, Big Z and Penny Hardaway as its top bench players.

And I said though I think Gasol is a better player in basically every aspect, it's not a big enough gap to where he'd dominate Bosh. Bosh is a really good player, potentially the 3rd best post player in the league, but I think the strides Pau has made since coming to LA are huge. He's definitely passed up Bosh, and his improvements as a defender put him really close to Howard's overall value as a post player IMO

Don't think so.

LeBron wants to win. He'll do what he needs to do to win.

more experienced is about the only thing he can hang his hat on.

and maybe a better passer.

everything else is a toss up pretty much.

how you can sit here and definitively call Gasol a better offensive player, and a better rebounder simply blows my mind. You're obv a huge Laker homer.

ok, then what is? Their numbers this year?

you seem to think Gasol is better because he plays on a better team. There isnt much of a gap in talent, if any at all. GAsol is pretty much the same player he was in Memphis. I dont care if he screams as he runs down the court after a big dunk. OMG he is so aggressive now!!!

you have to be able compare players individually and without other outside variables if you want to seem remotely intelligent about NBA basketball.

the point is.......what if what Lebron thinks he needs to do to win is actually the thing that prevents them from winning? If the guy is as deluded as this article makes him appear then what is there that should make us believe that he will suddenly "get it?"

In other words he was told by some influential people that The Decision was a bad idea and he did it anyway. He does what he wants to do and he thinks that Cleveland will forget what he did and love him again. Just because he is a good passer doesnt mean he is "unselfish." On and off the court

So because I think Gasol is better, that makes me a Lakers homer? Does anyone in this thread think that Bosh is a better player than Gasol? And even though I say Wade and Kobe (who is by far my favorite player) is a wash, I'm still obviously a homer. Just because people's opinions differ from yours doesn't mean they're a homer. You've been riding this super team hard ever since it was assembled, omg Lester is a homer without
objectivity!
You say Gasol is a better passer and more experienced, but everything else is a "toss up." Well, sounds like you can't definitely say that Bosh is better at anything. You know why? Because he isn't.

Their numbers and play recently are what I go by. Numbers from 2005 aren't indicative of their level of play in 2010, but 2009 numbers are a pretty good indicator. It has nothing to do with him playing for a better team either. Gasol is a better defensive player now than when he first game to LA. He is a better rebounder, shot blocker and shot alterer than Bosh. Offensively, Gasol has a more diverse offensive game. His low post moves are the BEST of any elite post player. He can use both hands, has a jump hook, and can power his way inside. On top of that, he's a good spot up shooter. Bosh has a really good midrange game for a big man, but his low post game is not on the same level.

Just answer me this:

Is Bosh a better offensive OR defensive player? There's nothing wrong with being the 3rd best post player in the game.

We will see how it plays out when the season starts

I wonder if he can mimic Doc Rivers/Phil Jackson and manage all those egos.

Don't forget his boss is Pat Riley. Also Spoelstra's dad was a former NBA executive with four different teams. He has plenty of resources at his disposal.

Considering the quotes about Lebron from Coach K during those Olympics, i see that as highly unlikely.

Dude, I dont have a problem with you saying Gasol is better than Bosh.

But when you say there is absolutely nothing Bosh does better than Gasol.....come on.

even if you want to go by "now" and not career, Bosh is a better scorer than Gasol and at least an equal rebounder.

That is what makes you a homer.
