Sure. I guess when your team is out of the hunt, what's the hurt in picking sides though? Even if your reasons are arbitrary? It makes the game more interesting if you pretend to care about the outcome.

I'm not turning a deaf ear, I completely can understand for that reason, in fact I endorse it sorta. I was giving my opinion on the quote

quote:
"All the people that were rooting for me to fail, at the end of the day, tomorrow they have to wake up and have the same life that (they had) before they woke up today," James replied. "They got the same personal problems they had today. And I'm going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things I want to do."

Love this quote. Some people spend an inordinate amount of time hating on a guy they never met who seems like a decent person (much better than the degenerate gambler jordan, or that rapist Kobe). The guy was proclaimed the greatest on sports illustrated at 16 or 17 and has lived up to that billing more than any "phenom" that I can think of. Never gets in trouble off the court and the worst thing he does is he went to work at the the same business as his buddies. Yet there are people right here on this board spending hours hating on him. I think this quote sums things up pretty nicely.

I used to hate him because I still felt Kobe was the best in da L, so I disliked LBJ solely based off the praise he got. Kinda started coming around in 2010 that LBJ was by far the best. The Decision made me think he was a douche, but I didn't get butthurt or anything.

Now, I legitimately like him. People who hate him now are generally cliche and don't know shite about basketball. Not all, but most.

Switching allegiances based on a player is just a loophole in being a bandwagoner.

"What I don't like the Lakers because they've won a lot of championships and contend yearly. I'm just a Kobe fan so I root for them"

Hours??? Lebron fans spend HOURS following him, loving him, admiring him and get pissed when others don't and y'all don't understand why others don't like Lebron. It's ok that he is not universally loved. Get over it.

Lebron's quote actually shows just how out of touch he is. He wants and expects to be loved and when he isn't he says stupid shite and you lap it up.

Not too much hate for Lebron but I like when he loses because his fans are retarded.

I don't hate him at all but I don't want him to win with the heat. I hope somehow he ends up back in Cleveland and brings them championships and regains hometown hero status.

Look up jimithings posting history and tell me that there arent people who devote hours and hours hating on the guy.

Yes. They are fans. If you dont see the difference there then I dont know what to tell you. One does so because they are interested in keeping up. The other does so to make themselves miserable? Because they feel powerless and need someone to rip on? I dont know but to obsess this much over someone they hate isnt healthy.
quote:

It's ok that he is not universally loved. Get over it.

I understand that. Universal popularity is impossible. Hell there were people who ripped shaq on the tiger rant because he got a phd. Try to explain that one.

No in fact its just the opposite. Its the most accurate summation about his detractors as just about anything. Being a fan or for this purpose a hater is in large part Escapism You get to identify with something and succeed. Or you get to feel better about yourself when the thing you rip on fails. When its over you gotta go back to your regular life.

The years when he played for the Cavs and knocked my Wiz out each year. He was a relatively new player and was getting calls that the vets only get.

What is your HONEST reason for hating LeBron?
*********************************************************
.. the, uhhh , "decision announcement" crap, of course... and predicting arrogantly 7-8 NBA titles dynasty before game one ..
and , sorry, I don't have to "get the frick over it" ... the "charity" angle was bogus. It was what it was ... "Hey evrybody - I'm gonna act like a complete jerk and throw in a "charity" angle - because my "PR People" say it will "humanize" me and make me "more likable" and drive up my endorsement points. What complete total bullshite! Now he gots the karma...IMHO ... can you deal with it ?

I prefer that players actually win championships before they are crowned to be kings

and I don't go for players giving themselves their own nickname

I don't like him for the same reason I detest Tigger. The talking heads at ESuxPN will not shut up talking about either of them. It is like nobody else plays basketball or golf.

I hate him because of his massive ego.

that is EXACTLY why I want him to fail. I want him to NEVER get a ring. He's just an arrogant prick who thinks he is gods gift to the game of basketball.
