I wanted to kick a puppy after UGA lost to Bama in the SECCG.

I can't believe I never thought of this until now.
In 2011 LSU had a heartbreaking loss to Alabama in a championship game, and the Saints had a heartbreaking loss to the 49ers in the playoffs.
In 2012 Georgia had a heartbreaking loss to Alabama in a championship game, and the Falcons had a heartbreaking loss to the 49ers in the playoffs

So what was worse in that game? 9th inning or 10th
9th. I thought it was over. 10 I had abandoned hope, even with the Hamilton score.

It has to be 1.9.2012 for LSU fans. I don't get too invested in the success of "my" teams, but even that one hurt.
That one was bad. Getting shutout sucked but the loss itself was not unexpected.
To me the loss in Tiger Stadium the next season, having the beat only to lose 21-17 on that fricking screen pass was much tougher to handle.
I know it is an unpopular opinion on this board, but that loss hurt me more than losing the national championship game.

I just knew in my heart LSU was going to lose the rematch the second it was announced. Then after it started, it was a slow but steady pain. I had built all my hopes for the following year, the national title was still in play, and that screen pass to Yeldon was a sharp, sudden sinking feeling that I never felt in a sports match.
Read the first few pages, just noticed a post above mine was the same.

Saints playoff loss to Seattle when Lynch made them look like idiots.
Saints playoff loss to San Fran when Alex Smith couldn't be run down by our secondary.
NO should have beaten SF -- and I have no doubt they would have beaten the Giants in the NFCG
Prolly wouldn't have won the SB against NE -- but who knows...

As much as 1/9 hurt, my biggest disappointment was LSU's '82 loss to Tulane. We had just curb stomped Florida State and were headed to the Orange Bowl and slipped up against a bad Tulane team...so bad that Tulane still fired their coach afterwards.
I swore after I would not take loses so seriously...

Avalanche losing to Dallas Stars in 7th game Western Conference Finals two years in a row.
Los Angeles Rams losing in NFC Championship three years in a row when I was a wee lad.
LSU beaten by Indiana in 1981 Final 4 and 1987 NCAA Final 8 .
LSU losing to Bama 21-0.
So many LSU games that wore me out...

it was the only home loss during my four years. my ex-girlfriend(bless her heart I'm actually saying something positive about her here) sat with me in the Greek section for 20 minutes after the game and didn't say a word. we just sat there. the result of the screen pass made me physically sick to my stomach like no sporting event had, and I was in the Dome for the title game. It still gets me every time I think about it

In addition the braves were stacked that year and lost the first ever wild card game to a St Louis team they had like a 10 game lead on. It was Medlens first loss in like 20 some starts and began the famous infield fly trash throwing.
After going to that game I drove to USCe and watched them blow us out in a top 5 matchup. And then we recovered and the SECCG and 17-0 NFC lead collapse happened
