The PAC 12 will beat each other up as several teams have really good QB play
I think a one loss pac 12 champion is a lock for the playoff this year as the resume will be plenty good enough

Notre Dame will have to run the table and even doing that could get blocked with no conf champ game. I don't think beating USC will be enough. It would have been better to beat Ohio St and losing to USC in my opinion.

ACC - I think FSU is going to lose somewhere along the way, that's two close calls in a row but both on the road
A one loss ACC champ could get left out as well

SEC - winner of SEC champ game will get in unless it's a two loss champ

Big Ten has best chance of getting two in between Ohio St, Michigan and Penn St, will see how it shakes out, that was a huge win for Ohio St in blocking Notre Dame from overtaking a big ten team

Big 12 Texas is in a good spot right now even if they drop a game but still get to title game and win that, they also will benefit if Bama continues win games

That team lost to Clay Helton at home by 2 TDs.

This team is way more talented than that one.

This team gave up 32 to *Cal*.

I'd really encourage pumping the brakes a bit, before they take a 35 point playoff loss to the SEC runner up, or Ohio State/Michigan.

Not sure any of those Oregon teams had weapons like Penix has looking back at it. Or some of the guys on defense Washington has.

OSU

They scored 40 something on Georgia last year didn't they? After Michigan boat raced them at home.

OU

This is probably a fair comparison, but the only team that held them under 20 points in a playoff game was Clemson, so we can't really say the SEC shut their offense down either.

It was 52-12 and they put in the scrubs

The most likely scenario is that the Pac-12 caniblizes itself and everyone has 2 losses, but this team is far more dangerous than the Browning team.

You can tell who hasn't watched their games, but apparently they're experts on UW

20 of those points were in garbage time. Washington was up 14 to 0 before Penix touched the ball.

They could win it all. This isn't the Georgia team from last year. Ohio St., Texas, Michigan, Georgia, Florida St and any of the other contenders are all beatable

SEC looks down and I don’t see a possible two loss SEC Champ getting in, though it looks like Georgia gets to sleepwalk into the playoffs this year.

PAC 12 looks really tough right now but I think if they win the conference with one loss then yeah they are as tough as anyone to beat. Looks like they have the best QB in the country rn. He’s averaging over 11 yards per play . Of course there’s a lot of football left

It was 52-12 with about 2 minutes left in the 3rd.

Most of Cal's points were in garbage time. I wouldn't hold that against Washington.

Part of what defines the separation of the elite from the good, is that the scrubs get the job done-- and they get high quality experience doing that, allowing them to roll over into the Next Guys for the elite programs.

Notice something about Georgia's game this week? Their starters didn't play particularly great-- but their scrubs? They've given up 17 second half points all *year*

That's a tell. You give up 20 in one garbage time to Cal, and another team gives up 17 in 4 games, and the difference should be illustrative.

This is a slightly better Washington offense, likely slightly worse defense, and not a contender in any way. With good breaks and some luck, they may be able to leverage a P12 title out of it, but they're clearly at *best* the third most likely West Coast designated playoff victim.

You know, those scary SEC defenses that allow 400 yards and 30+ points in nonconference matchups

I guess its a good thing for Georgia that their scrubs could hold UT-Martin, Ball State, and UAB in check.

An FCS school, and 2 teams that are middle of the pack at best in their G5 conferences. Cal isn't good, but they're better than any of the schools Georgia's scrubs saw playing time against.

Of course we’ve said that before about Oregon, OSU, OU and others and then they face a SEC defense in the playoffs that shuts them down.

Texas fan dickriding Bama like he's been in the conference for 33 years! Hell, Alabama shutting down Colt McCoy is what helped the national perception in the first place.

Not slightly, it’s way better. Almost 3 yards a play better. The defense may end up being better too.

This team is definitely a contender.

Have you actually paid attention to the SEC this year or are you going by results of years past?

Haven't seen them yet this season. Bet they have looked good. None of the four teams they've played has a winning record at this point. As others have said. It's too early to judge. But it is a year where no one has looked like they're way better than the rest of college football. They could be among the best.
