UConn was all about making that a rivalry game. The UCONN HC came up with that nickname, and had a trophy made. UCF wanted nothing to do with it. They left the trophy on the sidelines after they won, and now its nowhere to be found.

yea red river shootout is a really good one. ive never been a fan of the names that A&M uses. the lonestar showdown, the battle of the brazos, the southwest classic, etc. all just seem lazy to me

I still call it the RRS. One of my favorite rivalry games tbh.
Never really followed the Backyard Brawl much, but it's a cool name, and I became a big fan in '07 after stuff happened.

The game itself usually doesn't mean dick but you won't find better marketing than the guy that came up with Farmagedden for the K-State-Iowa St. game.
