Any award (or anything else for that matter) that is voted on by the media. Heisman, AP Poll, MVP, etc.

Brett Favre. Most overrated QB of my lifetime. Threw way too many soul crushing interceptions that were downright awful decisions and awful throws.

Great dunks.

Does ESPN still do that? Show highlights of just fricking dunks?

Who gives a shite now? Wow, you have hops, congrats...you are doing something that takes no skill but god-given leg stuff and making 2-points from point blank range.

They'd show that stuff forever...while skill stuff - like actually putting the ball in the basket from 30 feet away was ignored.

Wasn't there a show that proved the sac bunt was a total waste of time and statistically you should just let the player swing away (unless pitcher) they suck.

In the post season it becomes a huge deal IMO. Very rare to win the Super Bowl without some sort of home field throughout the playoffs
Possibly because the teams with the home field advantage were the better teams that year.

6 NFL wild card teams have won the Super Bowl.

That's pretty significant considering that it appeared in 1978 and just two years later the Raiders won the Super Bowl as a wild-card.

Home field and less games isn't overrated in the NFL...but it's not that huge of deal.

Literally anything preseason. Awards, games, stats, polls, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love all the talk before a season. I love debating how I think players and teams will pan out once the games start. However, once the games start, I throw all of that away since I have real data to look at.

Rushing for a 1,000 yards. You're averaging 63 yards per game in the NFL.

Or worse, catching for 1,000 yards when every play is thrown to your 5 yard out bubble screen NE bullshite pass.

Of the Players who took to get to 1,000 yards receiving (Welker ain't gonna be on this list) (Edelman won't be either)

Receivers who didn't just squat and poop after taking off from the line of scrimmage...

So what's overrated is today's modern receptions and yards, and all all that jazz.

Flipper Anderson gained almost 1,200 yards on 44 receptions.

(44 receptions for Wes Welker would be 23 yards total.)

Speaking of the Pats...Stanley Morgan is twice on the list for 1979 and 1981.

Cliff Branch
Bob Hayes
Wes Chandler
Paul Warfield

Georgia's "potential" in sports.

Everybody always claims there the biggest underachievers in college athletics because they never win championships and have all this untapped potential. I say what potential? Maybe they just suck. It's who they are without a generational GOAT to single handedly carry them.

The NBA has been awful for the past decade. It's turned into street ball.

No more finesse shooters. Everyone just takes it to the rim and gets fouled

I hate the last 5 minutes of a game. It takes 30 minutes with all the fouls and time outs.

The umpires calling balls and strikes instead of a computer bc it is "part of the game".

Agreed. If Ice Cube can just mess around and get one, it can't be that big of a deal.

Bulletin board material is pretty overrated. I'm fairly certain it gets fans fired up more than players.

Sabermetric stats in baseball. People read a stat and think they know the whole story. You've got people debating the sport who don't even watch it any more. They need a stat to tell them if someone is good or not

baseball is the easiest sport to display in stats and you literally don't need to watch the games anymore to judge players
