I know PSA is backed up forever and other companies as well. What is another company to use where I don’t have to wait forever to get my cards back?

I don't know the answer, but the reason they're so backed up is because of the money flooding in from Wall Street. Lot of investors pulling out of the stock market and into the sports memorabilia industry. That is a major reason in the resurgence in the trading card market.

I love it. It has made me start going through all of the cards I've had since I was a kid and it is really fun. LeBron rookie cards are going for stupid money right now.

Are you serious?

I feel like the resurgence started during the pandemic when people sat on their arse and still made money but had nothing to do. The people clearing out Targets and WalMarts are not Wall Street investors, it’s people trying to make a quick buck.

It’s a combination of both. You have your regular joes buying all the packs at the stores and sending their cards they already have. Then you have money people taking their money out of the stock market buying all the expensive cards and memorabilia with a lot of value instead of losing value in the dollar.

I listen to a podcast about card collecting, and one of the hosts owns a large memorabilia store in the Atlanta area. He is the first person I heard mention the money coming off of Wall Street.

HGA is pretty cool. They grade using AI and they do colorful custom slabs.

CGC is the top dog after PSA and Beckett, but you wont get your cards back before 2022 comes.

Currently have a ~200 sub with them right now, I might get them back before 2022

SGC has by far the shittiest slabs and they are terrible graders, way too lenient

I sent 4 cards to HGC back in April for 30 days. Got it back at the end of June. They look nice but Im still not sold on HGC. I think they have lost a lot of their initial steam since the beginning of the year.

I have 10 cards in with SGC right now. A buddy is swearing by them since PSA stopped and has been making great money selling the slabs and SGC is hitting their 30 day marks.

I'm not big on graded cards because I strictly PC but what do you think it will take for another grading service to reach PSA levels on the secondary market? It seems like BGS has picked up steam but the PSA slabs still demand a premium over the others.

Sports card collecting is having a historic boom right now and here’s why

quote:

Who’s collecting sports cards right now?

quote:

“Wall Street types” — Like stocks, card values fluctuate over time. Wall Street types see trading cards as tangible stocks. They put in time to research value trends and are always looking to buy low and sell high. Like the quick flippers, Wall Street types are in the hobby for the money, but they deal in larger sums and seem to find enjoyment in the ride.

'There's never been a time like this': Wall Street is piling into trading cards as prices soar

quote:

"It's hard to find someone [in] my generation whose first business wasn't buying baseball cards when they were 10," Luber, who is 42, told CNN Business. "We're all of the age where we have a little bit more money, but we're also in positions of decision-making for investment funds."

The arrival of institutional money has quickly transformed the market. Goldin said for the first time in his career, he's fielding calls from hedge funds interested in gaining exposure.

SGC doesn't hold shite compared to PSA, BGS and CGC/CSG 10s. There's a reason why SGC 10s are usually worth 50% less or worse than the big 3

BGS and CGC/CSG 10s are usually better than PSA 10s in many cases. If you get a black label 10 or a perfect 10, it's worth A LOT more than a PSA 10

Tier list:
BGS Black Label 10
CGC/CSG Perfect 10
BGS gem mint 10
PSA 10
CGC/CSG Pristine 10
BGS 9.5
CGC/CSG 9.5
PSA 9
BGS 9
CGC/CSG 9
SGC 10
