Sounds like he needs to re-shoot his yardage markers too

Those were GPS yards buddy! I learned to play there and never hit balls to places I reached today, must have been the crawfish enchilada I had for lunch.

Nobody understands how golf holes are measured. I've hit plenty of 300 yard drives that were 260. I believe double d though, when we played there I don't know of I could have gotten much more roll out of my ball in a parking lot

And double d, my buddy drove that 330 yard par 4. If it is the one I'm thinking of anyway

I played there so much we used broke down cars in the yards on the right of the first 3 holes as yard markers! Many years ago when a guy from work was running the course we helped him put in the yardage markers. He had a friend who was a surveyor who shot all the distances and we buried the blue, white, and red markers in the spots he marked. The course is so straight it's not hard to measure.

Ground was pretty hard today, if I hit a lower ball I'd get more run.

hardpan and 90 degree temps seems to add about 20 yards to the drives and about 10-15 yds on the irons.

Since neither of you spelled L'Augusta correctly we can ban both of your suggestions, but it's not gonna get you anywhere

On #1 I hit a ball in the ditch on the right but could see it and looked like I had a shot. Huuuuuge guy walks out of one of those houses and picks my ball up. I didn't say shite. Just dropped my ball and played on

hit 2 balls OB by a total of a yard today. was +5 thru 5 ended up shoot +5 on my nine. a mini moral victory after struggling. Had 190 into a par 5 with like at least 7 yards behind the hole and flew the green and went into the bunker with a 5 iron. I was shocked. when i hit it I thought it was going in

ETA:

im looking for your old waverly post now

Wow...just woke up to the email from Oaks at Sherwood announcing that as of yesterday they are CLOSED for business.

We thank you for your patronage and your support of the course, but regrettably we are unable to continue our operations under the current environment.

couple things from this email....

1. who didnt see this coming?
2. Feel bad for the employees, I personally know a couple
3. the rapid decline of this part of BR didnt help

I hope this did not go down like 1210 am did a couple years ago. With 1210 am, at midnight the night of closing they locked the doors and I believe the first time employees knew was when they tried to return to work

Just got that email too. Pelican Point is closing 9 holes on the Lakes too. We might all be at L'Augusta before long.
