Project Manager for a Construction Company. I'm on the road a lot, and get to play a lot of shite courses.

I don't understand how it takes some people forever to play a round of golf.

I hate slow play so much that I often won't play on the weekend which is the only time I can play other than the 2 Friday's a month I'm off. In our United Way tournament at work last year I played both morning and afternoon rounds, morning took almost 6 hours and we didn't finish the last 2 holes in the afternoon. Most of the time the delays were guys waiting until the group ahead putted out to hit 2nd shots on par 5's where there was no way in hell they could reach the green from where they were.

And I am sometimes conflicted on whether to hit my 2nd on a par 5. My average good 3w is about 240 or so I guess. But I have hit some out to 260 once in a blue moon. Say I've got 265 to the middle, do I go or not? Chances are I will be 20 or more yards short, but I also don't want to roll up while someone is putting. Or are you talking about obvious times when you are 290 from the green?
