We call it the F--- your buddy tournament

its actually modified alternate shot as you both hit a drive and pick the one you want to play then its alternate shot from there.

you see some big numbers put up in this tournament on certain holes.

Our strategy is going to be me hitting driver on every non- Par 3 and hit it as far as I can with my buddy ( a very solid player) will hit first and hit the fairways. Unless I am a total wreck with the driver we should have some good looks with wedges

So I'm guessing you don't hit many approach shots in that format

I'm going to be in Maui, Hawaii for the week of June 3rd. Definitely going to get in a round or two while I'm there. Anyone ever played there? I've been looking at a few courses online, the Wailea Golf Club looks pretty legit

YEs! I played two of the Wailea courses--Gold and one other one.

I also played Makena (lovely course with the best views.

If you want wind and a links inland challenge play the Dunes of Maui Lani. Its an incredible course and you will feel like you are playing the OPen Championshiop. play in the afternoon and the wind is sick!

Last but not least, get up to Kapalua. I played the Plantation course and it is an incredible course to play. just awesome. very windy and lots of blind tee shots with EXTREME elevation changes...don't expect to score well but its a must play in my opinion.

Played Wailea and the Kapalua Plantation course. Both of them are a must! Also if you get a chance, take a ferry over to Lanai and play the Challenge at Manele. Beautiful.

Playing in Orlando with some guys from New York. They are all per the place, but they are hilarious. As for me, I'm hitting the ball as solid as I have all summer, just don't know where it's going.

I played on mine. We went to Tahoe and the resort we stayed at had a bad arse track that I kept eying. Finally she gave me the green light, so I rented a set of clubs and went at it. I got paired with 2 guys who were on what was at that time I think the Adam's tour. I held it together pretty good on the front and only shot a couple over. They gave me some props. Then the wheels came off on the back and I ended up embarrassing myself.

Shot a 43 on the front. Course is very open or I would have been in a lot of trouble

I played a round recently with a friend of mine at their club. One of the members (and his friend) is a Web.com tour guy. He joined us on the back-9...I don't think I've been that nervous on the 10th tee in a long time.

Why do you get nervous when playing with someone on a mini tour? Just curious, don't really get the effect they have on everyone. Granted I play money games against some guys on the Adams and Web.com tours.

It's pretty normal to get nervous when playing with people you don't really know and who are obiously better players than you. Hell I was nervous to play a round with threeputt and I've known him since he was a little divot digger!
