It was fair to poor the last time I was out there about 1 month ago. I only played the front, and it was really wet after some rain, so the grass in the fairways hadn't been cut. The greens were bumpy too.

I still like the layout, so it's worth $30 or so, but I wouldn't pay more than that.

I don't play there often anymore, but each time I do it becomes more unlike what I remember growing up out there as a kid. Too bad.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect the holes closest to I-10 were under water. 4, 5, 6, and 7 on the front and 12, 13, 14, 15 on the back. The whole course was definitely not under water.

They've just lost revenue from mismanagement. LaPlace had an ongoing "rivalry" between Belle Terre and Riverlands when I was a kid. Belle Terre was a top 5 course in the state in the mid 80s when I was a young kid, but amazingly, Riverlands somehow won out. The course layouts don't come close to comparing, but Riverlands was able to keep its membership intact. I don't know all the details of how it happened, but I'll never understand. There's isn't one single thing that's better about Riverlands as a country club except the tiff eagle greens they installed. I can only imagine that people were treated so poorly by management that they had to leave Belle Terre.

Just finished 9. I'm playing really well. I wouldn't say my short game is killing me, it's just a tiny bit off and I'm leaving 3-5 strokes out there every 9 holes.

3 putted on the 1st hole after finding the fairway and the green for a disappointing bogey.

Finished with 5 bogeys, 3 doubles, and a par. Really should have had 3 pars, 4 bogeys, and a double. It'll come together one of these days though. I'm happy with how I'm hitting it and my course management.

I was able to get an early round in after work today.... shot 73 at Webble Beach.

It's worth noting they just aerated the greens today and putting was nearly impossible. Not only did they aerate the greens but the machine they used left swales in the green where the tire marks passed... some were pretty bad. They're going to have to roll those greens tomorrow asap. Needless to say I gave myself an automatic 2 putt once on the green.

Also worth noting, for the first time in EVER, they actually cut the fairways at Webb and distinguished between fairways and the rough. It was like a real live big boy golf course.

i have played a grand total of 1 round of golf in BR in my life, and it was at UClub in 2005 or so. Should I leave it at that, or are there any other courses I could get on that would justify the drive?

just heard more pros use Bushnell pinseeker technology than any other brand on tour. in layman's terms, buy a bushnell because they are pretty much the only comapny who makes them

Uclub just revamped and is a killer 7700 yds from the tips.... Greens are ridiculous too. The bluffs, baton rouge cc and beaver creek are all good tracks too. Santa Maria is pretty solid as well.
