I have a coupon for a round at Covington Country Club and will be working in the area today. Thought about nine holes there later .... any thoughts? pointers?

It's a nice round. Front 9 is original design. Back nine has a newer layout, opens up a little more.

Uhh, yeah, if that's all your gonna do. Walking the front in the morning when the sun isn't beating on you is nice though.

But the back is a little more spread out. I'd hit the back.

Divot.com deal of the day is a Titleist 910D2 driver for 129.99

Pretty good deal for a good driver

Lost Ball

I hated it. We played last June when Alabama/Perdido had that tropical storm just off the coast. We played it in a 20-30 mph wind and it was just ridiculous. My FIL missed the 150 marker in a fairway by about 3 yards and lost his ball. He did shoot 74 though, said it was one of his best rounds in his life.

ETA: We played Peninsula the day before and it was no contest.

I guess that was the catch. And yeah, they skimped with the lack of cover/wrench.

How long until you hit La Tour? I'll be out there Saturday with some customers. I will be the guy with the Hammer X and screaming BOOOOOOOOOM after I hit it 210.

Not this weekend, but the next. I've already been looking at the two forecast.

It drains pretty well for being in a canefield/swamp area so you should be ok unless it storms when you want to get out there. I would suggest taking a cart before trying to walk it.

Didn't you say it's really spread out? Lots of distance between holes.

A few of them. The walk to #1 (or the range if you head there first) and #10 are the worst, and there are a few green to tee walks that are a good hoof. I will walk it one day though, but in the summer I would imagine it's not too fun.

ETA: Walk Ellendale. It is laid out really well for walking.

What's the effect of a shaft that may be to stiff and too heavy. I think I may have bit off more then I can chew with this project x 6.5. My miss is a hook and I have lost everything badly to the right with a slice today. That's what I get for taking a deal and not getting properly fitted.
