How many does Texas have? Because they are the #3 ranked team in the country
they are 0-2 vs the top 25. Worse than any of the teams in the OP

Crazy they are 6-6. Just imagine if they had played a regular season schedule ranked in the 80's.

Historical Oklahoma and…..checks notes….Vanderbilt are much better than 6-6

They beat the AAC champion who’s in the top 20. TAMU was #26 and Louisville was #27 in the AP.

Think you meant to add Texas and Penn State to that list, but sure your bias wouldn’t let you.

Yeah you can forget big OOC games now going forward. Weakest schedule possible is how you get in.

SEC has a rule now that you have to schedule a power 4 OOC game. So unless they change that, you should still have good matchups

Notre Dame has to join a power conference. Being independent shouldn't be awarded.

SOS, lol Don't lose to a shite OU, it's that simple, or a mediocre Vandy.

Nobody really watches bowls anymore

Yeah, that's bullshite. So many bowls still exist because they attract eyeballs, and therefore, sponsors.

This is from last year's bowl season...

Which team got left out because of losing a big OOC game?

People are losing their minds because Bama couldn’t beat just ONE of Vanderbilt or Oklahoma.

The sport is in a stronger position to give Cinderella teams like SMU a chance over a team who didn’t live up to their own hype like Alabama

Bama made their own bed by losses they scheduled. SMU didn’t have bad losses and played the schedule they were given like every other school

Is that supposed to be impressive? Averaged 2.4M viewers? The women's final four averaged 13.8M.

Men's CWS final averaged more at 2.8M and that's college baseball.

That may sound good on paper until the top teams just schedule Purdue, Northwestern, Maryland, UCF, Stanford, Wake, Arizona etc.

For meaningless exhibition games? Yes.

Then you compare meaningless exhibition games to national championships.

Women's final four is not a national championship and it's women's and basketball. 5 times the viewers.

What do you think the Final Four, and the whole tournament, is for?

The Final Four is also not played during the holidays. Shouldn't it have more viewers? Do you think the Myrtle Beach Bowl being played on the Monday morning before Christmas should bring in women's Final Four numbers to justify its existence? You're kind of making my point for me.

Bad for whom? The TV execs, corporate sponsors, and communities who host these bowls seem to think it's worth it.

Evidently, enough people do indeed watch these games, otherwise they wouldn't exist. You're the one who spun some arbitrary benchmark to judge their ratings on.
