I would be a lot more interested about the fight if it was on ESPN or another basic cable channel. I'm sorry but I have zero interest in paying $50 to watch two 50+ year old men fight.

They can't knock each other out.
Judges won't be scoring.
No winner will be announced.

I'm out

I'm pretty sure no "ear bites" was a rule in other Tyson fights. He doesn't always play nice. a KO for disqualification would be a hilarious way to go out.

Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr are banned from knocking each other out during this weekend's highly-anticipated exhibition clash. The two boxing icons are set to trade leather for charity in Los Angeles on Saturday night but both will have to adjust to a new set of rules inside the ring.
quote:

The contest will last just 16 minutes, made up of eight two-minute rounds.
Both Tyson and Jones Jr decided against wearing head guards and will therefore don 12-ounce gloves as damage limitation.

quote:

Andy Foster, the CSAC's executive director, has made it clear they will call proceedings to a halt if either fighter is cut.
quote:

Both fighters have laid on record their frustration at the enforcement of two-minute rounds.
Tyson said: "I'm sure they have their reasons for doing it.
"But you know, women fight for two minutes. But I guess the commission has a bigger influence than I do. I'm just happy that we're doing it."
His opponent and former four-weight world champion Jones, was in agreement: "I'm not happy at all. That's for women.

fair enough. But they are killing their ppvs numbers by coming outright and saying now KOs

Those rules should be advertised whenever someone tries to buy the fight; would save everyone a lot of money.

Holy shite those rules make no sense, that's not even an exhibition but a dancing competition.

This is your reason for not watching? If you have watch boxing for the last 25 years because of judges scoring and then declaring who they believe to be the winner then you have probably hated boxing a lot. Taking away judges and decisions might be a good thing. People know who won in most instances.

Missed the "no knock outs" part?

Nice sparring session / cardio.

It was exciting until you hear the rules and realize its nothing more than a $50 PPV sparring session

-No knockouts
-No judges
-No scoring
-No winner announced
-Bout is stopped immediately if either fighter gets cut
-8 rounds at 2 minutes

No thanks

The WBC will have judges (former champs) scoring the fight. The winner will get this:

Maybe we will get lucky and it will end up like the Apollo Creed/Ivan Drago exhibition.

So the only reason anybody wants to see this is because they want to 50 year old Tyson go off on somebody like he did in that IG video but they're not allowing that? It's like every sport in existence is trying their damnedest to piss off every fan they ever had
