Pele and Gretzky got a rolling start, but Wayne still ate up Pele big time, and bjorn chased down Pele despite the big initial deficit

Well he ran on the USC sprint relay team that broke the world record in the 4 × 110-yard relay at the NCAA track championships.
OJ had legit world-class speed.
He wasn't one of these hyperbole Gus Johnson NFL "running away from the cops speed" guys...as we all know, he Bronco'd away very slowly.
