He led with his helmet is my only gripe. If you want to plant him, extend your arms or lead with shoulder and drop him,

I think the intent was fine. Leading with helmet was wrong tho

NFL players would be fined 50K at least. Probably suspended

I think that same hit would draw a hefty fine in the NFL.

FWIW one of the guys on the halftime show was defending the ref by saying that his view was obstructed when the hit happened

Lead with the helmet, and it was helmet to helmet.

Murray being a defender is irrelevant. It was an illegal hit.

His intent was clearly to lead with his helmet though.

he led with his helmet.

I think he had bad intentions too.

LEADING WITH YOUR HELMET INTO ANOTHER PLAYER'S HELMET IS ALWAYS ILLEGAL.

You missed the fact that Dial plays for Bama. Not allowed throw flags on them

The only complaint I have with that hit was that they called a roughing the passer call on UGA for a completely clean hit after this no call.

I agree with Lester though.. who doesn't want a shot at the opposing QB? It's only a matter of how he went about taking that shot that was so egregious.

probably not. it was definitely helmet to helmet but not the personal foul most people are calling for.

When I say intent, I mean Murray is jogging toward the play. He is now a defender and should be free game to hit as long as he is near or moving toward the play.
