That is what the media is beginning to say. Personally I think WVU beats them in 2 weeks at Charlotte's Dukes Mayo classic game.

Their schedule is horrid. They might not play a ranked team this year unless NC or Va tech are alot better than people thought they would be

The only comparison that I've seen is that the OLine has 33 years collectively of college football experience. They have 3 guys in their 7th year and 2 guys in their 6th year.

Like I said in another thread, their OL and run game are awesome. Their D also looked good, but putting them in the same category as last year’s Indiana seems very premature. I don’t know if Pribula and the pass game can win for them if they run into a team that can stuff, or at least control, their run game.

College football show on one of the espn channels (my friend watched it and was telling me about it) was comparing them to Indiana. Also the Athletic had an article. I seen this too

"Virginia is drawing early comparisons as a potential surprise college football turnaround story similar to Indiana's recent meteoric rise, following an impressive 34-8 Week 0 win over NC State. As discussed by analysts at The Athletic and in recent YouTube commentary, the Cavaliers enter the 2026 season with an older, experienced roster and a dominant opening statement"

Pribs won’t win them many games with his arm. So as mentioned already, if the other team can control the run, UVA will be in deep doo doo.

I mean that makes sense, kinda, although they won 11 games last year and finished 16th so the "surprise turnaround" angle is 12 months late.

I think most people reading the thread title would assume you meant "unlikely natty contender", which let's be honest is laughable considering they've played 1 game against a pathetic weakling.

No way Pribula lasts the entire year with that playing style. Holstein is a good backup, but I don't see them making it to the CFP. They were fun to watch Saturday, and as long as Pribula is upright, I'll put money on em.

Indiana beat playoff team Oregon and ranked Illinois last year.
