I've already said, multiple times, that I'm not a fan of Stewart's and I think he's a hot headed narcissistic a-hole?

You're willing to convict based on that video alone?
You guys are proclaiming him innocent and saying it was a mistake on that video.
Talk about double standard.
In that video, I see other drivers see the kid and dodge. Then I see Tony (with the hot head history Tony has), car move up and increase in speed.
Why was he accelerating? Especially during what they said was a yellow? Why did he aim upward randomly?
Enough of the bullshite about how hard it is to handle the cars and the dirt. I'm not buying the shite because others seemed to handle it well enough to avoid killing another human being.

Tell me what you think then...did he see him or not?

Lol I can believe it.

Huh? All I'm doing is saying there's nothing on the video to make anyone think it's a purposeful act. I'm not a mind reader, I don't know intent. I didn't see anything that shows he tried to hit the guy.

Talk about double standard.
Seeing as he wasn't charged with a crime, the burden of proof is on the accuser.

#2 You're damn right there is a double standard. It's called innocent until proven guilty.
My yes or no question still stands: would you convict based on that video alone?

Right. Which is why I made my jury statement to the guy.

I do think (and I've said this from the beginning) that he was going too fast.

Agreed. I think it was an accident, but I do think TS was intending to pass close, and I do believe it is his engine you hear rev

Most of us are saying it's impossible to deduce motive from that video and that the poor conditions make the likelihood of this being an unfortunate accident very high. That is not a double standard.

You have no proof that he was or did from that video.

Wrong.

Did you just flat miss Ward hopping back and forth?

Others nearly did, for crying out loud. Only thing that might have saved another driver from being in TS shoes is Ward wasn't actively trying to get in their windshield.

Did we ever find out if Tony had an onboard camera?
Also, I see that he has withdrawn from the race today. Too late, but at least he's not racing today.

Ward Jr. appeared to attempt jumping/avoiding Stewart's car at the last second, back UP the track. You can then hear Stewart(I assume) gas it. Tony's car moves higher UP the track. That's what I saw and heard.

After watching the video I will still stick to what I said earlier. Don't see how they can prove he did it on purpose. It is still a terrible situation.
Posted on 8/10/14 at 12:36 pm to TbirdSpur2010
The only facts we have right now are that Ward made a HUGE error in judgement, ignored safety protocol and is dead because of the actions he made.
I feel for his family and no one deserves to have their lives taken away, but still he never should have walked into the path of oncoming vehicles.

Not seeing this until after impact.

I think he saw him and let his hot temper get the best of him. By that I am in no way saying he tried to hit or kill the guy...just rev the engine and throw dirt on him.
We are both going off a bad video that doesn't show good angles.
I don't know what kind of law you practice but if his family hired you for a a wrongful death suit I bet you would have a much stronger case that TS was negligent than you are willing to admit in this thread
