I was looking at archived editions of my University’s newspaper and saw that Southwestern La used to be called the Bulldogs. Just curious when they changed to the Ragin Cajuns. Anyone recall?

I dont understand why they are so hellbent on wanting to be called the "University of Louisiana" they should have never changed from SLU and ULM should have never changed from NLU. But thats my get off my lawn comment for the day.

Lafayette has more than its fair share of good-looking women.

A lot of local HS have Bulldogs as mascot (Iota, Jennings, Ville Platte).

I always figured that was because of USL.

My question is: how is it that USL adopted Bulldogs to begin with? ???

Honestly since we’ve gone to the new logo that incorporates the old NLU logo I dig it a lot more.

I find it difficult to mock one of the most unique mascot names in all of college sports. Props to the Ragin Cajuns for moving away from the generic “bulldogs”.
