Last night was not even the best post game of the season. Just a close second.

The review at the end of the game and clemson scoring with :01 instead of :00 doesnt give it a chance

You do realize USC got the ball back with 19 seconds left

It's actually kind of funny that nobody remembers, but the first half of USC Texas was really sloppy, and not good football by any stretch of the imagination. Although I suppose it could be argued that a sloppy first half in which USC could move the ball but turned it over in the RZ twice was better than watching 2 teams that couldn't move the ball at all.

We were like Bama in reverse. Bama was all D which set their offense up all season, and we were all offense in 2004. 2004 USC's D wasn't nearly as good as SC's 2008 D for example. The freaking Ting brothers were playing in the secondary, FFS.

Overall game....2006. 4th quarter..Clemson Bama

They are so similar in what they meant and as an LSU fan I can only hope that this is the beginning of the slide for Bama.

i thought OSU v. Miami considering it was supposed to be foregone conclusion. then UT v. USC just because it was a good game (ND and OSU were both very good teams that year, so I felt like 4 good teams). last night, clearly two best teams of year, very good game. i don't think it was a shocker, Clemson could have won last year.

Clemson doubled up Alabama on 1st downs.. I seriously doubt USC-Texas had that kind of difference.

you had Leinhart-Vince Young which was a good duel then last night a freshman (albeit a good one) against Watson.. mismatch.

plus Alabama was penalized a bunch surprisingly. I think they had 20 yards of penalties on that last Clemson drive alone. I'm sure fatigue was the key reason but.. it is what it is.

Clemson did overcome 2 turnovers which had you told me before the game, they'd lose the turnover battle 2-0.. I would have had Alabama winning the game.

also.. fun stat.. Saban WAS 97-0 with a 10 point lead after 3 quarters.

That's saying something.

good for Clemson hanging in there and knocking Bama off their god damn high horse.

but I'd lean USC-Texas. Weird thing about that game was that Vince Young didn't even pass for a TD. But it didn't matter.. he dominated when he ran.

Off the top of my head I think leinart only passed for 1 as well. So in a game with over 70 points and 500 yards passing, there was only 1 td pass

I like how everyone conveniently forgets how good the 2014 national title game was. It was arguably better than yesterday.

USC vs Texas

1st downs 30 and 30
Total yards 574 and 556
Comp. Att. 29 of 41 and 30 of 40
Yards per pass 9 and 6.7
Rushing 209 and 289
Turnovers 2 and 1
Time of possession 19:20 and 17:19

Looking at the stats you would wonder and say you'd have no idea who won. Was it that one extra turnover? That's how close the teams were. And either could have won it.

Bama had the feel they could win it but there was none of this cool give and take like USC/Texas...They were sparring and winning rounds, Clemson would move the ball all day and then fumble or stall out. Bama relied on field position and bending but not breaking against Clemson.

This wasn't two heavyweights going blow for blow up and down the field.

Clemson pulled the ole Rocky trick.. let the bigger/badder MOFO get tired of throwing punches.

Sometime in the 4th quarter they discovered Bama was human.. like when Rocky cut Drago.

after that forget about it!!!!!!

But I get what you're saying.

And yes Auburn-Florida St. was arguably better than Alabama-Clemson like Steve said above.

If you mean the Rose Bowl, which you do, then yes... Everyone sort of agrees.

It's what was on the line in the Natty that people focus on, but it wasn't a better game or watching experience.

If it was Rose Bowl vs just bowl game in Tampa with Clemson/ Bama...And just based on bowl game, location and teams and performance...

But the Natty always, well always gets the nod for what's on the line. Unless it's a dud Sugar Bowl, twice.

Even with the Natty on the line, Rose Bowl was highest in figures.

AU-FSU was better than Bama-Clemson

Literally the exact same ending, but it was a good game all the way through instead of just the last qtr

The Miami Ohio state game is the most overrated game in history. It was a fricking snooze fest in regulation and then got great in double ot.

The common theme with a lot of these games is they start out sloppy or boring and then get good towards the end. We have seen some absolutely ridiculous 4th quarters that saved otherwise crappy games, including the bama/Clemson game and the Michigan/fsu Orange bowl.

Interesting that the USC/Texas game crushed Clemson/Bama in the viewers:

USC/Texas: 35.6M
Clem/Bama: 26M
