Is it wrong for me to be more excited about the 2018 offseason than the 2017-2018 season itself?
Can't wait to be a Laker fan again?

What exactly was lebron expecting? Sorry teams aren't lining up to give up all stars for TT and Shumpert.

And who pushed for JR Smith, Iman Shumpert, and Tristan Thompson to combine for 40.65mil annually?
I can understand JR Smith @ 14.25mil; he's attempted 6.4 3s a game and knocked down 38.3%. Hell, in the playoffs its been 6.5 attempts and 41.8%. Actually does the thing LeBron needs most offensively, spacing and hitting open 3's. Defensively he's not the worst, but shooters get PAID and he fits the bill.
The other two, that's flat out horrible.
Iman shumpert 10mil a year?
3.1 3pt attempts and 33.8%, so he doesn't space for you at all. Defensively he's better than JR Smith, but he does NOTHING offensively for you...
and then Thompson gets paid 16.4mil a year.
An 8/8 undersized center who clogs the lane. contributes minimal offensively, but is a decent defender and rebounder for his size. Issue is, he is a "hustle" guy that doesn't hustle all the time. This past year, him being on or off the court didn't matter. It was a net 0.7 rating worse.

I wouldn't mind that as well.

Yeah, he can blame Klutch Sports for the frustrating offseason.

Born didn't lose in game 7 the year before to the team he joined, and the team he joined wasn't already the best in the NBA coming off a record setting season of 73 wins.
Those things are incidental to the attempt to build a super team.

Yup the Clippers will finally get to hang the banner on their way out of that dump Staples

At times the guys like JR Shump and Tristan have all been either great or bad decisions. All three were big in the first two runs and vital to the championship won. They all looked like bad deals this past year but playing against one of the best teams ever will do that. All of their deals looked bad at first, a lot better, and now terrible.
It's a mix of performance and the salary cap swings. But mostly KD going to GSW is what makes it look bad. Cleveland might have beat GSW this year without that move and nobody would say a word about these contracts. The NBA is so fluid.

He should be frustrated and concerned with JR Smith and Tristan Thompson for being complete and utter dog shite during the finals.

everyone called the tristan thompson and iman shumpert contracts bad when it first came out.
are they integral, sure.
but at the same time, we can say they are vastly overpaid.

Even though Bron did it years before KD?

He's gone. It's almost as if Gilbert knows this too.
Posted on 7/17/17 at 3:45 pm to David Ricky
Maybe he should have been a better GM.....

You know how I measure bitch moves? Not one, not two, not three...

I'm assuming that he doesn't know how a salary cap works.

Maybe he shouldn't have pushed for Tristan Thompson to be ridiculously overpaid for his level of output.

Hypothetical scenario: Lebron tells Cavs this season that he won't re-sign, should Cleveland trade him and get a ridiculous return?

I'm a huge Lebron fan, but if he wants to motivate his franchise to act more aggressively, he could always sign some paperwork to dispel these Los Angeles rumors.
