Washington and especially Oregon are always stealing SoCal recruits on the regular. Part of the move to the B10 for USC/UCLA was for them to be the only game in town for those guys.
Think of it as a West Coast version of the SEC adding Texas/OU. Texas AM may complain but if the money is there ( or if schools take a deal for less money for an invite.) they'll be added.

There's potential, but significant road blocks remain.
Good, add SDSU, SMU, UNLV, Colo State, work to get this package to 25 mill per school, easy path to playoff exposure. Everyone wins.

A few conference realignment updates:
* All eyes remain on what University of Arizona decides -- go to Big 12 or stay in Pac 12?
* There is still some belief that the nine remaining Pac 12 could decide to stay together and agree to new media deal. We'll see. If so, it could then add SDSU, maybe others and everything stops.

* Big Ten hesitant about offering expansion bids to Oregon and Washington (and perhaps Cal and Stanford) unless Pac 12 further deteriorates. If P12 sticks together, B10 likely to just stay at 16 and wait.

* If Big Ten does decide to expand and offer membership it will be at a cut rate for some multiyear period (maybe 50-60 percent of media rights revenue that will range between $50-65 million annually). Still equal or better than most options for Oregon, et al.
* Next 24 hours will determine a lot.

It's a good question

FSU wants to bolt the ACC for a pot of gold.
The Big Ten is eyeing four more Pac-12 schools.
There’s only one problem: The ESPN spigot that’s funded realignment for 20 years got turned off recently.
Who’s paying for all this?

NEWS: Washington has scheduled a board of regents meeting for tonight, @ChristianCaple reports.
The subject: “Special Meeting”
Also excited about this back-to-back PAC after dark double header tonight.

Arizona, Arizona State, and Washington all meeting tonight - all three of them executive sessions - about athletics. Something is about to happen.

Utah realizing they got left out and have to go back to the mountain west

Travel would suck but they could go ACC

I said it from the beginning, the law of diminishing returns is kicking in. I think the The B1G is about to be in for a huge awakening. Profit margins will definitely start to decline.

I knew the Pac 12 was going to sign some shite deal with Apple or Amazon. RIP Pac 12 After Dark. I'm not going to bother with the subscription bullshite.

The Big Ten deal doesn't have anything to do with ESPN.
The ESPN spigot turning off isn't paying for it.
That is why they went NFL model of over the air as the driver.
If ESPN continues a steep dive the only football that will be on all over is Big Ten

The deal is reported to be a 10-year contract worth over $10 million per year. Dellenger noted that if his intel is correct, it would vault Notre Dame to the top of the list in terms of apparel dollars. All the other deals mentioned by Dellenger - including Ohio State, Texas, Michigan, Nebraska, Louisville and Kansas were either Nike or Adidas schools.
Chump change. The Ohio State Nike deal is $16.8 million a year.

A completely crazy reversal.
San Diego State could go from having to pay $17M to exit the MWC for the Pac-12, to, what's left of the Pac-12 coming to them.
No exit fees to leave the Pac.

Big Ten just trying to figure out financials at this point on Oregon & Washington, sources told @ActionNetworkHQ. “There is no more research or information needed on Oregon & Washington,” B1G sources said. “We have everything we need.”

USC is pissed at idea of more west coast teams joining. Wonder if Washington may get invite while Oregon gets left out as a "compromise" with USC

We need to revisit the playoff qualifiers. The new PAC isn't better than the AAC or MW.
