I offer as evidence last weeks 20-17 last minute win over Denham Springs. Although I guess your argument is that you beat a name. Like beating Alabama when Shula was there. You figure it's still Alabama. I saw WM play last week. This won't be your toughest competition if you win it all. That's all I'm saying.

Not true. I graduated in '99 and we were in playoffs 3 of my years...

A few things I'd like to throw in

1. It's great to see St. James continue to win. They fell about as far as a program can fall. A lot of great tradition there and it appears they are headed back in the right direction.

2. Easton has a great team, but I think EJ has the style of team that's the kryptonite for WE style offense. Think Oregon vs Stanford. However their district is crazy tough and they nearly beat Landry/Walker in district play, losing 12-13. So they'll bring it

3. Haynseville-West St. John appear to be on a collision corse for the dome. IF it does play out it will be one of the best games of the finals.

4. Landry/Walker continues to get better. They are a serious contender in 4A. Remember they had Karr beat, but lost in the final minute. 10-4A was a Very competitive district which will help Karr. Easton, and L/W in the remainder of the playoffs.

We wouldve smoked Destrahan in that game if he was healthy

I was at that game, it was probably the worst game Destrehan played that year. They were flat and looking ahead. BTW, the Destrehan team this year is much better than that one.

The public school teams will never go back to a joint championship again. A bunch of schools are having more playoff success than they have ever had. Now that those schools have had a taste I can't see them going back.

Fact...one year we played Barbe, and Justin Vincent ran for 200+ yards.

And this is where the LHSAA home field rules get really really STUPID.

Take Destrehan vs. Dutchtown. Destrehan is seeded higher. Destrehan beat Dutchtown in the regular season 45-14. And who gets to be the home team? You guessed it--Dutchtown. And why? Because Ehret beat Mandeville, of course!

I believe the same thing happens with Acadiana and Barbe this week. Barbe gets to be the home team even though Acadiana is the top seed and they kicked Barbe's arse. But Barbe gets to be the home team because Hahnville beat Ouachita.

It defies all logic and intelligence. Yeah, I know--it happens every year, blah blah blah. It's still stupid.

The public schools are eating cake right now, but just wait till they find out it's the cheap kind

Not in 5-A. Parkway, Barbe, Acadiana, Destrehan. I'd put these teams against anyone in the state. It's just a shame Acadiana and Barbe have to meet in the quarterfinals.

Because Dutchtown traveled and Destrehan did not.

You wanna be the home team? WIN MORE GAMES. WIN YOUR DISTRICT. How fricking hard is that to understand?

Apparently it's very hard for you to understand the rules because EVERY SINGLE YEAR you make this argument.

It's really very simple. Louisiana is a poor state, one of the poorest. They are not going to force schools to travel every single week. It's not going to happen. Do you know the cost of traveling versus being the home team for a 5A school? The busses plus feeding 100 people two meals isn't cheap at all. They made the rule to spread the expenses as evenly as possible.
