Looks like he’s a 5th year senior. Maybe he doesn’t have pro aspirations and wanted to lay it all out to try to get his team to the tourney.

The only thing I can presume is that he's a senior that doesn't really have an MLB future, so he has the "Why not?" mentality if it helps his team get a tournament berth (if they don't already have one)

I remember when Texas let a reliever throw 150+ pitches in a super regional game in 2009. Absolute garbage to put that much stress on an amateur arm.

But that was okay because it led to LSU winning a championship.

The guy is a 22 yr old adult. Not some 11 year old in a championship game lol. What is the chances a 5th year senior, is gonna make it to the majors. Possibly could be the last game he pitches in his life. Might as well go for it..

No

Not even in the discussion

Too many auto bid steals today.
LaTech is 15+ rpi ranking better and most likely had to win Saturday to become a lock.

Crazy day of college baseball.

Arkansas threw the 2021 Golden Spikes winner into the ground last postseason and he was like a 5th or 6th year player and is now tearing to up in the Padres minor league system.

It doesn't matter if a guy is a first round pick or an undrafted nobody, college coaches are going to pound their pitchers to get a win, and not think twice about it. They don't care.

They have them for 3-5 years at their physical prime and will churn through another crop that come through next recruiting cycle. They don't have any longterm, multi-million-dollar investments to worry about like a Major League club does...plus the kid is typically over-eager to do it b/c he's 19-20 yrs old and invincible.

It's no different than Nick Saban running his RBs into the ground if he doesn't have a good backup. What does he care how many miles the kid gets... He's only my problem for 3 years.

I pitched 10 and 2/3rds innings in 2 days when I was 12 one time and I had a noodle arm by the time I was 13.

I threw a no hitter in the first 6 inning game and then I threw 4 and 2/3rds in relief the next day.

My arm was actually tired by inning 4 in the first game, but nobody could hit me, so they just kept me in.

Idk why I was inserted the next day tbh, but I enjoyed it.They put me in with the bases loaded w no outs. We were playing a team of Mexicans that loved to chant like a softball team and try and steal bases all game, so I kept changing my leg kick every few pitches to fake them out. Picked off like 4 guys that night. One off each base. By the end of it, I had guys diving back to the base even though I was delivering the ball to the plate. I was really toying with those kids with my different deliveries.

Fun fact: A Double stack with cheese from Wendy’s was 99 cents back then. Good times.

Austin Wood. Ended up needing shoulder surgery. Played in the minors for a few years and retired in 2012.

college baseball coaches always grind their senior starters/pitchers

they want to win, he's there 1 more season, they use and abuse them.

Saban has done that one time in his 15 year career at Bama and that kid was a freak of nature that is still terrorizing NFL defenses.

He’s like 24 and won’t be playing pro baseball. His stuff still looked really sharp too. I’d normally agree it’s an insane number, but this is the one scenario when I’m like sure, let him throw 200

He was at 117 heading into the 7th. Cajuns had two arms in the bullpen ready to go the second he got in trouble.

The two arms were ready to go at any sign of struggle, as in anyone getting on base, and he goes 3 up 3 down for three straight innings!

Kid has nutz and kept telling coach to keep me in. Deggs agreed as long as he agreed to come out when any trouble happened which it didn’t. Kid is not going to the league probably so it’s more than likely his last game big time game ever if they don’t make a regional.

People need to admire instead of complaining.

We have a lot of people in our fan base who don’t keep up with the times. This really doesn’t happen a lot anymore. And it hasn’t been that way for over a decade.

We still have fans that think the NCAA gives out regionals based on money.

People always leave out the part. Where doctors said, other factors could have lead to the surgery also..
