My friend and I were debating this. I think even though the UFC fighter is much more technically sound, the average NFL player is bigger and stronger, and punches would have more weight. I think old players like Brady would lose, but if a non-heavyweight fighter fought a linemen, he would get destroyed. I would be interested to see a fight like say Cam Jordan vs Daniel Cormier or Zeke Elliot vs Jon Jones. Would you take the fighter or the player?

Since I’m a fricking retard apparently: does the nfl player wielding a helmet to swing even the odds enough for you?

Anybody can get caught with a punch. So yes, a perfect punch on the button by an NFL guy would knock a UFC guy out like any other guy.

Outside of a miracle haymaker, the NFL guy would get his a minimum of one limb dislocated from its natural position. These guys can isolate a body part at will and unless you understand how to defend it, it will cease to function.

You mean to tell me a 6’5 nfl lineman would beat up someone smaller than them ? Huh who would have thought that crazy scenario up.

Obviously im wrong I guess... But the best ufc fighters are like in the mid 100s... average nfl player is mid 200s and like a foot taller. That really wouldn’t affect a fight?

NFL big boys could beat someone well below their weight. Connor at 170 would certainly be in danger from a dude 250+

To put it in perspective, Michael Westbrook was a certified badass and had a strong background in bjj. He won a grand total of one fight in his mma career after his NFL career was over. He could come out of retirement right now and beat the hell out of Zeke.

Unless the NFL player landed a shot in the first 30 seconds, they would lose. They would become gassed from not breathing and the adrenaline rush.

Also, not the same sport, but watch Lyle Alzado vs Ali on YouTube. Alzado had a boxing background and was insanely strong. Ali took some serious shots from Alzado and just walked right through them.

It wouldn't be an interesting fight. The guy with zero MMA training would get destroyed. Wouldn't take particularly long either.

In relatively short order they'd get a body part isolated and hyperextended or get their air choked out.

Any UFC fighter is going to be able to throw kicks and punches. So now the NFL player can dare to wrestle them. I think it would be equally as dangerous for the football player.
