Look no further than Greg hardy if you want to see. Keep in mind he has actually been training for at least a few years.

If you have reversed that question in your mind you would have the fighter playing football against a football player and you would have realized the sports professional wins at his own game

Jon Jones walks around at 230+ and has two brothers currently in the nfl who admit to getting worked when they’d try to fight Jon.

The OP is absolutely clueless. Many ex NFL football players thought it a good idea to venture into the ring as pro boxers and got their asses handed to them unless they were fed "tomato cans" who only enter the ring to lose and pad some fighters record.

The get up to journeyman class opponents and get beat to hell and back.

It amazes me how people still manage to underestimate MMA fighters, particularly ones who fight in UFC. They’re basically the most elite fighters on the planet. The only ones who can beat them are other guys who compete at their level.

Street fight don't have rules, give me the one who is more violent with tunnel vision
That's like saying the And 1 Mixtape Tour could beat the Los Angeles Lakers in a street ball game because they're allowed to do trick moves and double dribble in street ball.

As if a trained professional mixed martial artist would be beaten on the streets by a nobody because there are "no rules".

Guess what, there are no rules for the professional fighter either.

Obviously im wrong I guess... But the best ufc fighters are like in the mid 100s... average nfl player is mid 200s and like a foot taller. That really wouldn’t affect a fight?
I mean yeah, in general size does matter... but... here's an example:

Roger Huerta is a professional MMA fighter and is 5'9", 165 lbs.

Rashad Bobino was a college football player for the University of Texas as was 6'0", 238 lbs.

They got in a street fight, and Roger Huerta knocked him out in about 10 seconds. Here is the video... you don't see much in the video except for Huerta take off his shirt and run after Bobino, and you see Bobino out cold a few seconds later:

Not saying it would happen exactly like that every time, but maybe it gets it through your head that professional fighters are really, really good at fighting.

If only the UFC didn’t have weight classes in a no holds barred fashion. I wonder if a small Brazilian around 150 lbs would beat 409 lb sumo wrestlers.

Go get ufc 1 and enjoy

Also, not the same sport, but watch Lyle Alzado vs Ali on YouTube. Alzado had a boxing background and was insanely strong. Ali took some serious shots from Alzado and just walked right through them.

Ali was there for an exhibition and to extend the rounds...when he saw Alzado thought it was a real fight, then Ali got a little serious.

Alzado only landed "good shots" early because Ali was clowning for the crowd as you'd expect from an exhibition.

And what does being a football make you a good fighter?

Do they teach Jujitsu at NFL training camps?

What skills about catching a football or tackling a dude make you a great fighter.

Sure, tackle an MMA dude and now you're on the ground and totally fricked.

These cross sports comparisons are stupid. MMA fighters have trained for years and along with natural talent have proven they can take and give massive amounts of damage to another human. A smaller MMA fighter would just chop a big lineman down after some leg kicks they would barely be able to walk. Have you ever seen football players fight?

It is like saying Usain Bolt could cover OBJ like a blanket, sure he is taller and faster but one good cut and OBJ would have 5 yards of space.
