I heard that the ufc recently banned replenishing your water via IV

What's the point of this?

Big weight cuts are dangerous. Especially when you are getting punched in the head repeatedly. The UFC had nothing to do with the decision, it was the USASA. Not that it really matters, I don't know how the hell they are going to enforce the rule. It also does not take effect until October.

I think it can also be used for blood doping or something, or masking blood doping.

I get that but that shouldn't pertain to using an I.V. to replenish.

This could be a good point if true.

It's also a crutch for less-skilled fighters to fight with the advantage of a significant size difference.

I wish they'd take weight on fight day to keep guys fighting people their own size.

McGregor, Poirier and Jeremy Stephens each stand 5'9" and represent the tallest fighters in the top 10 of the UFC's featherweight rankings. No fighter in the top five of the featherweight division stands over 5'8".

At 74 inches, McGregor also holds the longest reach of the UFC's 15 ranked featherweights.

McGregor, who last competed at lightweight in December 2012, talked about the benefits of bumping up to 155.

Good read on McGregor fighting at 145. The article is old from 2014. LINK

Hmmm I never heard of an iv with your standard 500-1000ml bag of nacl (sodium chloride).

Now if it were blood doping then it's blood being put back into the athlete. But drugs such as epo is quicker and I think is more effective

I suppose you could experiment with hextend (which is a starch) by iv as well

But that's for trauma casualties who have no pulse and are unconscious

In amatuer wrestling they allow IVs after weigh-ins but you have to go into a tent where the drug testing officials are and have them administer them so they know there are no drugs, I could see the UFC doing something like that if they even keep that rule.

Conor was on Jim Rome today and denied the 27 lbs weight loss thing. Said Chael must have heard him wrong or something but he did not have to lose anywhere near that amount.

It was a fairly entertaining interview, even if he sounded half asleep at first.

It would be obvious if an official iv bag was tainted. I just think the stuff is getting a little overboard

Honestly both of the owners are douchebags. The format of his season sucked. Bz won more fights. They should have won.

His girlfriend posted pictures of bruises and said Travis beat her up.

Pics of girlfriend. Not what you think
