The UFC has a big pay-per-view lined up for May 7th, and two titles will be on the line. In the main event of UFC 274, lightweight champion Charles Oliveira defends his belt against former interim champ Justin Gaethje in a fight that has virtually zero chance of being boring. As for the co-main event, Rose Namajunas lost to Carla Esparza for the inaugural strawweight title back in 2015, and now she gets the chance to avenge that loss in a title defense.
In the featured non-title bout, Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson are set for battle in a three-round contest, legendary former PRIDE and UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio Rua rematches Ovince Saint Preux, and fan favorite veterans Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon kick off the main card.
Preliminary Card (8 PM ET, ESPN/ESPN+)
- Randy Brown vs. Khaos Williams
- Macy Chiasson vs. Norma Dumont
- Brandon Royval vs. Matt Schnell
- Blagoy Ivanov vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima

Didn't realize Shogun is still fighting. That guy has had some wars.

Creepy Joe too. What year is this?
The over 35 set is well represented on this card.

Pulling for Gaethje but Charlie Olive is gonna find a way to get it done.
Thug Rose defends her belt.
Chandler might actually kill Ferguson.
Hopefully Cerrone can get a W, any fight could be the last one of his legendary career.

Having a fight night at the crib for this one. Haven’t had one since ufc 249 Gaethje vs Ferguson/cejudo vs Cruz almost a 2 years ago to the day. Super pumped to fire up the grill slam some cold ones and watch all 12 fights with the fellas

Really interested to see if Ferguson has anything left in the tank after being dominated his last 2 fights. A win here could put him right back in the title mix and a loss could mean the end

Back in college we used to pile in my little apt with a couple flats of keystone from the AM mart for almost every big fight. Good times. Back when Spyder and GSP were still running the show

Would love to see Shogun get a win. One of my all time favorite fighters. One of the most hype I’ve ever been watching a fight was when he knocked out Machida in the rematch for the belt
…..then he got absolutely punked by Bones in his first defense

Gaethje gets the 10-8 first round...
then loses in the 2nd by submission
then loses in the 2nd by submission

I too am getting the fights, I usually buy one card a year. Gaethje vs Oliveira is too good to pass on and Chandler Ferguson has fight of the night potential. Will be grilling and throwing back some brews, can't wait for this one. I think if Oliveira tries to exchange on the feet that he may not survive. I see him winning in the the 4th via submission. If Ferguson can make it somehow to the 4th round I think his cardio will be the difference. Iron Mike wins early if he wins at all. Gimme Rose, Lauzon, and St. Prieux as well.

How does tony get to the 4th round in a 3 round fight?

I’ll take
Oliveira-Justin is fricked once they go to the ground. At a crossroads on who to root for here, part of me wants to root for Gaethje because he’s American and we have no American champs right now but the other part LOVES Oliveira’s game and wants to see him continue winning
Thug rose- don’t really keep up with the women but thug is cool as shite
Chandler- Gaethje gave Ferguson one of the worst beatings I’ve ever seen 2 years ago and chandler is almost the same fighter. Ferguson is tough as nails I’ll be rooting for Him to pull the upset but he’s looked bad his last 2 fights
Shogun-because he’s a damn legend
Lauzon- cowboy is just a shell of his former self at this point and lauzon has nasty jiu jitsu. I think he gets a sub

Excited for this card as usual. the UFC has been on fire ever since the covid bullshite started
OT: do y’all ever think it will make more financial sense for the UFC to ditch the PPV way of doing things? I know they’ve recently moved over to ESPN+ but do you ever think it will make them more money long term to go full blown cable TV with maybe the occasional PPV option? Just curious
